- I rented a 10x18 but that is not what I arrived to find. It is a triangular shaped storage which made it exceedingly difficult to modularly pack my things in. I feel like I was scammed but with the movers there with my things on a Sunday and a plane ticket the next day I didnテ「竄ャ邃「t have time to wait for another unit.

- This place is awesome! I recently moved from my house to a one bedroom apartment so I had a ton of stuff that I needed to stash. Perplexed on the process of renting out a unit I was helped out by Eddie. Eddie was calm and collected and helped me choose the best unit of the amount of things I had. Can't beat the price and the facility is well kept. Definitely one of the best PS in the city

- I've rented here off and on over the past 20 years. The rent on units is reasonable and lower than other places nearby. The freight elevator is probably over 100 years old, but always works. It is manual and takes practice to get the floor of the elevator even with the building floor you select.
There is no last months rent or other deposit like some other places. The manager and staff are friendly and very helpful.

- The decision to rent storage space has always been stressful for me/us because it's always been accompanied with a major life event requiring us to physically move from a place we consider home to somewhere else. This was the case for us recently, yet again. But a quick online search led us to Public Storage's nearby location. The online experience was seamless. I followed up with a phone call and the customer service was top notch - prompt, efficient, professional, competent and friendly. The sane was true for in-person service. The setup was quick but thorough. The entire process helped to ease the burden of dealing with a sudden change in our living environment.

- Teresa helped me get set up and found me a better sized space than I had originally booked. She was the best!! Nice, clean location. Only drag is that there isn't really a loading dock, so unloading our cargo van was a little suboptimal.

Finding and renting trusted self-storage facilities in Sausalito, California is now easier through MoversCorp. Compare options and rent storage near you with just a few clicks. We provide the convenience of reserving affordable storage units online or by phone. No credit card or long-term contract is required. Consider us as your solution for finding and reserving a storage facility throughout California, including options for mini storage units and storage containers to suit a variety of needs. The cheapest storage unit in your area may not always be the best choice. Please consider the following factors when selecting a storage unit in Sausalito, California.
- Monthly rates are based on features such as 24/7 access, climate control, facility security, location, and overall demand in your area.
- For household goods, the most common storage unit sizes are 5x5, 5x10, 10x10, and 10X15. For added flexibility, some companies also offer portable mini storage units for rent for temporary residential use that can be delivered to your property or hauled by you for on-site storage.
- Many facilities offer larger unit sizes for commercial and business storage, like 10x20 or 10x30. These sizes are ideal for storing office equipment, inventory, or business records. These sizes can also accommodate vehicles, making them a great option for car storage.
- Most storage facilities require insurance for stored items. If you don’t have your own policy, you may need to buy one through the facility, adding about $15 to $50 to your storage rental cost each month. Some places also charge a refundable deposit or an administrative fee when you move in. Always ask about these costs and refund conditions before signing a lease.
- Storage facilities with flexible leases allow you to rent on a month-to-month basis. Be aware that storage unit price increases are common. Many customers say their rates go up after a few months, sometimes more than once a year. Since storage rentals are month-to-month, facilities can raise prices with proper notice. Ask about potential rate increases before committing to a unit.
- The monthly rent will also depend on whether a facility offers climate-controlled units or only drive-up units. Climate-controlled units cost more than drive-up units or storage containers.
- Most locations have digital keypad access, which provides you with your personal access code. Check with the office for availability.
- Consider drive-up access for easier loading and unloading, especially for heavy or bulky items.
- Some facilities may provide extra room or rental space for public use, such as areas for organizing or handling your stored items. Contact the property manager to confirm availability.
- Check for online reviews and recommendations. Local experts can guide renters to facilities that stay available and maintain reliable service during peak demand.
- Ask the office about the preventive security measures for safeguarding the location. Facilities with experienced staff often maintain stronger daily oversight by monitoring access logs and responding quickly to tenant concerns.
Are there free storage deals in Sausalito, California?
Many companies offer promotions for new customers, such as a free first month. Search by your zip code or distance to locate cheap storage units that come with the first month free and other decent storage discounts. Take advantage of specials if you're a first-time renter.
How do I find the cheapest storage in Sausalito?
You can sort by price, from low to high, to find affordable options on our website. Away from the city center, you have a better chance of finding inexpensive storage rental solutions. The facility's size and amenities affect the monthly price.
What is the difference between an indoor and outdoor unit?
You have easy access to your unit when it is an outdoor unit. If the unit is indoors, you must first enter the building to get to it.
What is the difference between office hours and gate hours?
The property's operating hours are during office hours. The store manager will be on duty to help you with your questions. If you have questions or need help outside these hours, look up the property's phone number to contact the leasing office directly. The gate hours determine when you can enter the property and use your unit.
Sausalito lies along Richardson Bay between steep hills and San Francisco Bay, so storage demand often spikes among residents in smaller hillside homes or houseboats who need off-site space for bulky outdoor gear or water equipment like kayaks. The city’s limited land area means fewer storage facilities are available, and they often fill faster than in inland Marin County cities.
Residents packing surfboards, bicycles, or other outdoor gear common in a bayfront community may prefer drive-up units because of Sausalito’s hilly terrain and steep grades near neighborhoods like Sunnyside or Schoonmaker Point. Seasonal events and boating activity in Richardson Bay can create periodic demand for non-standard unit sizes, especially in late spring and summer when marine equipment moves in and out of use.
Long-term renters in Sausalito sometimes see seasonal price changes tied to housing turnover and tourism seasons, since many units serve residents between Bay Area moves. Renting in winter or early spring, when fewer tourists and movers are active, can lead to slower turnover and steadier rates.
Parts of Sausalito fall within Very High Fire Hazard Severity Zones, especially near the hills above Bonita Street and in the Hurricane Gulch neighborhood. When selecting storage insurance, check whether the policy covers wildfire risk, as some areas have limited coverage or higher premiums. Always confirm the storage facility’s address when checking for risk-based surcharges or coverage limits.
