I am fairly clueless when it comes to anything technical and I had to call the office a few times for assistance and also realized you can screen call them from the kiosk. Then, I called a 3rd time, and in spite of the time and my frustration at my own inability, the woman that answered was patient, not rushed and spoke to me in a friendly, kind and respectful tone. I appreciated THAT so much! She was able to help me complete the rental and gave me the security code and let me know if it would be difficult for me to remember, she could make it whatever I needed it to be. The customer service was so nice. You have to access the secure gates for entry and exit. At the kiosk, there is a "handicap" accessible button for assistance if you need it. That is a wonderful thing, so if you need a little help, you can get it. The facility is spotless. It IS a new storage place but you can tell they are taking care of the place. There is no graffiti, trash or debris anywhere. There are numerous cameras, the storage place is laid out well and is in a nice little neighborhood and when I went back a couple of days later, they had put a little sticker on my lock so I knew they had been by. It's great! I forgot to note that the kiosk also shows a map of the facility so you can select where you want your storage to be. I loved that because I wanted one close to the front. The size is adequate for my needs and my experience so far has been great.

Finding and renting trusted self-storage facilities in San Marcos, Texas is now easier through MoversCorp. Compare options and rent storage near you with just a few clicks. We provide the convenience of reserving affordable storage units online or by phone. No credit card or long-term contract is required. Consider us as your solution for finding and reserving a storage facility throughout Texas, including options for mini storage units and storage containers to suit a variety of needs.

The cheapest storage unit in your area may not always be the best choice. Please consider the following factors when selecting a storage unit in San Marcos, Texas.

  • Monthly rates are based on features such as 24/7 access, climate control, facility security, location, and overall demand in your area.

  • For household goods, the most common storage unit sizes are 5x5, 5x10, 10x10, and 10X15. For added flexibility, some companies also offer portable mini storage units for rent for temporary residential use that can be delivered to your property or hauled by you for on-site storage.

  • Many facilities offer larger unit sizes for commercial and business storage, like 10x20 or 10x30. These sizes are ideal for storing office equipment, inventory, or business records. These sizes can also accommodate vehicles, making them a great option for car storage.

  • Most storage facilities require insurance for stored items. If you don’t have your own policy, you may need to buy one through the facility, adding about $15 to $50 to your storage rental cost each month. Some places also charge a refundable deposit or an administrative fee when you move in. Always ask about these costs and refund conditions before signing a lease.

  • Storage facilities with flexible leases allow you to rent on a month-to-month basis. Be aware that storage unit price increases are common. Many customers say their rates go up after a few months, sometimes more than once a year. Since storage rentals are month-to-month, facilities can raise prices with proper notice. Ask about potential rate increases before committing to a unit.

  • The monthly rent will also depend on whether a facility offers climate-controlled units or only drive-up units. Climate-controlled units cost more than drive-up units or storage containers.

  • Most locations have digital keypad access, which provides you with your personal access code. Check with the office for availability.
  • Consider drive-up access for easier loading and unloading, especially for heavy or bulky items.

  • Some facilities may provide extra room or rental space for public use, such as areas for organizing or handling your stored items. Contact the property manager to confirm availability.

  • Check for online reviews and recommendations. Local experts can guide renters to facilities that stay available and maintain reliable service during peak demand.

  • Ask the office about the preventive security measures for safeguarding the location. Facilities with experienced staff often maintain stronger daily oversight by monitoring access logs and responding quickly to tenant concerns.

Are there free storage deals in San Marcos, Texas?

What is the difference between an indoor and outdoor unit?

You have easy access to your unit when it is an outdoor unit. If the unit is indoors, you must first enter the building to get to it.

What is the difference between office hours and gate hours?

The property's operating hours are during office hours. The store manager will be on duty to help you with your questions. If you have questions or need help outside these hours, look up the property's phone number to contact the leasing office directly. The gate hours determine when you can enter the property and use your unit.
