- I hate giving bad reviews, but sometimes it feels like a duty, right?
TLDR; unreliable and unorganized over several visits, not worth the trouble.
I gave this place the benefit of the doubt with our first rocky interaction. We signed up for a space, called ahead to check that our arrival time would work and what we needed to bring, all good. We get there within the timeframe we confirmed on the phone, and a woman I believe was the manager was sitting in her car smoking out front. No biggie, of course, except she informed us she was leaving for her lunch break, and no one would be available to help us check in for 'at least an hour.' We argued back and forth a bit as we had called ahead and were in a time crunch, and eventually she ended up helping us. Great, we moved past it and ended with smiles all around.
However, today we needed to get a larger unit, which of course requires checking in at the office again and all. Called ahead to confirm times, but when we get there within the times confirmed, the office is dark and locked up. It is about 10am- not what I would expect lunch time to be, plus again, we had confirmed our arrival window. Super inconvenient, as we were once again working in specific time window, so we moved to one of the much more responsive storage spots in the area and had no trouble, even with a last-minute request.

- they allow people to occupy the units/live in the units. they say there is someone onsite who lives there. I never recall seeing anyone. I hate to complain but they called me back to defend the situation to tell me that under special circumstances that some people "stay" there during the day due to their living situation?? I honestly worry about someone staying there and wandering the premises. I have reported it, but worry about them possibly finding out who I am. and making us evict the unit..

- Like everywhere on the E Side of Portland every storage facility is surrounded by homeless camps and RVs. So there is always a concern for security, but its gated and barb wired so hopefully all will be good.

- I checked with four other rental sites prior to renting with Public Storage. While the other sites were nice they were more expensive and not as close to me. In addition, one site said check our heated units, and when I talked to the fill in manager, he did not if they even had any at this location. The public storage agent I rented with was nice, and concerned with showing me the unit I rented, She even called me after I had put some items in storage and said I had not locked my unit, how many managers check the locks. I was very happy she called me.

- Our unit price has been raised three times since we rented it. Booked through their website and was advertised a 10 x 10 for $129 with a $30 off per month for booking online and the person we spoke to assured us the unit would be $99 for as long as we had it. Then a month or so later we got a bill for $129 and when I called they told me that I should not have been given that price and that it was incorrect. We were given another month for $99 and then after that it was raised to $129. Approximately 6 months later (April '22) we received an email saying the unit price would be going up to $149. Then this morning we got another email saying our rate was going up to $219 a month. Seventy dollar price hike?! And they hardly ever answer the phone.

Finding and renting self-storage facilities in Oregon City, Oregon is now easier through MoversCorp. Compare options and rent storage near you with just a few clicks. We provide the convenience of reserving affordable storage units online or by phone. No credit card or long-term contract is required. Consider us as your solution for finding and reserving storage facilities throughout Oregon, including options for mini storage units and storage containers to suit a variety of needs. The cheapest storage unit in your area may not always be the best choice. Please consider the following factors when selecting a storage unit in Oregon City, Oregon.
- Monthly rates are based on features such as 24/7 access, climate control, facility security, location, and overall demand in your area.
- For household goods, the most common storage unit sizes are 5x5, 5x10, 10x10, and 10X15. For added flexibility, some companies also offer portable mini storage units for rent for temporary residential use that can be delivered to your property or hauled by you for on-site storage.
- Many facilities offer larger unit sizes for commercial and business storage, like 10x20 or 10x30. These sizes are ideal for storing office equipment, inventory, or business records. These sizes can also accommodate vehicles, making them a great option for car storage.
- Most storage facilities require insurance for stored items. If you don’t have your own policy, you may need to buy one through the facility, adding about $15 to $50 to your storage rental cost each month. Some places also charge a refundable deposit or an administrative fee when you move in. Always ask about these costs and refund conditions before signing a lease.
- Storage facilities with flexible leases allow you to rent on a month-to-month basis. Be aware that storage unit price increases are common. Many customers say their rates go up after a few months, sometimes more than once a year. Since storage rentals are month-to-month, facilities can raise prices with proper notice. Ask about potential rate increases before committing to a unit.
- The monthly rent will also depend on whether a facility offers climate-controlled units or only drive-up units. Climate-controlled units cost more than drive-up units or storage containers.
- Most locations have digital keypad access, which provides you with your personal access code. Check with the office for availability.
- Consider drive-up access for easier loading and unloading, especially for heavy or bulky items.
- Some facilities may provide extra room or rental space for public use, such as areas for organizing or handling your stored items. Contact the property manager to confirm availability.
- Check for online reviews and recommendations.
- Ask the office about the preventive security measures for safeguarding the location.
Are there free storage deals in Oregon City, Oregon?
Many companies offer promotions for new customers, such as a free first month. Search by your zip code or distance to locate cheap storage units that come with the first month free and other decent storage discounts. Take advantage of specials if you're a first-time renter.
How do I find the cheapest storage in Oregon City?
You can sort by price, from low to high, to find affordable options on our website. Away from the city center, you have a better chance of finding inexpensive storage rental solutions. The facility's size and amenities affect the monthly price.
What is the difference between an indoor and outdoor unit?
You have easy access to your unit when it is an outdoor unit. If the unit is indoors, you must first enter the building to get to it.
What is the difference between office hours and gate hours?
The property's operating hours are during office hours. The store manager will be on duty to help you with your questions. If you have questions or need help outside these hours, look up the property's phone number to contact the leasing office directly. The gate hours determine when you can enter the property and use your unit.
