- Storage and storage facilities have become commodities in this day and age. What sets one storage company apart from any other boils down to people, people and people! On that score CubeSmart on Fremont Road in East Syracuse New York comes in first place in my book. The branch manager, Cheryl and her co-worker and colleague Tiffany are good at their jobs. Personable, efficient and just great people to deal with. I would wholeheartedly recommend this location and this staff to anyone who's in need of storage lockers, individual units and or outdoor storage, RVs trailers, boats, vehicles, etc. In short, two thumbs up!

Finding and renting trusted self-storage facilities in Cicero, New York is now easier through MoversCorp. Compare options and rent storage near you with just a few clicks. We provide the convenience of reserving affordable storage units online or by phone. No credit card or long-term contract is required. Consider us as your solution for finding and reserving a storage facility throughout New York, including options for mini storage units and storage containers to suit a variety of needs. The cheapest storage unit in your area may not always be the best choice. Please consider the following factors when selecting a storage unit in Cicero, New York.
- Monthly rates are based on features such as 24/7 access, climate control, facility security, location, and overall demand in your area.
- For household goods, the most common storage unit sizes are 5x5, 5x10, 10x10, and 10X15. For added flexibility, some companies also offer portable mini storage units for rent for temporary residential use that can be delivered to your property or hauled by you for on-site storage.
- Many facilities offer larger unit sizes for commercial and business storage, like 10x20 or 10x30. These sizes are ideal for storing office equipment, inventory, or business records. These sizes can also accommodate vehicles, making them a great option for car storage.
- Most storage facilities require insurance for stored items. If you don’t have your own policy, you may need to buy one through the facility, adding about $15 to $50 to your storage rental cost each month. Some places also charge a refundable deposit or an administrative fee when you move in. Always ask about these costs and refund conditions before signing a lease.
- Storage facilities with flexible leases allow you to rent on a month-to-month basis. Be aware that storage unit price increases are common. Many customers say their rates go up after a few months, sometimes more than once a year. Since storage rentals are month-to-month, facilities can raise prices with proper notice. Ask about potential rate increases before committing to a unit.
- The monthly rent will also depend on whether a facility offers climate-controlled units or only drive-up units. Climate-controlled units cost more than drive-up units or storage containers.
- Most locations have digital keypad access, which provides you with your personal access code. Check with the office for availability.
- Consider drive-up access for easier loading and unloading, especially for heavy or bulky items.
- Some facilities may provide extra room or rental space for public use, such as areas for organizing or handling your stored items. Contact the property manager to confirm availability.
- Check for online reviews and recommendations. Local experts can guide renters to facilities that stay available and maintain reliable service during peak demand.
- Ask the office about the preventive security measures for safeguarding the location. Facilities with experienced staff often maintain stronger daily oversight by monitoring access logs and responding quickly to tenant concerns.
Are there free storage deals in Cicero, New York?
Many companies offer promotions for new customers, such as a free first month. Search by your zip code or distance to locate cheap storage units that come with the first month free and other decent storage discounts. Take advantage of specials if you're a first-time renter.
How do I find the cheapest storage in Cicero?
You can sort by price, from low to high, to find affordable options on our website. Away from the city center, you have a better chance of finding inexpensive storage rental solutions. The facility's size and amenities affect the monthly price.
What is the difference between an indoor and outdoor unit?
You have easy access to your unit when it is an outdoor unit. If the unit is indoors, you must first enter the building to get to it.
What is the difference between office hours and gate hours?
The property's operating hours are during office hours. The store manager will be on duty to help you with your questions. If you have questions or need help outside these hours, look up the property's phone number to contact the leasing office directly. The gate hours determine when you can enter the property and use your unit.
Many residents live in large subdivisions such as Cedar Point, Eldan Meadows, and Gulfstream. These neighborhoods often have larger homes with basements and garages, which increases demand for long-term and seasonal storage.
Cicero’s location near major roads such as Interstate 81, U.S. Route 11, and NY-31 makes it easier for renters to deliver and pick up stored items using personal vehicles. Located between Oneida Lake to the north and Syracuse to the south, Cicero supports suburban living along with boating and other seasonal equipment needs.
Storage prices near high-traffic retail areas along Route 31 by Driver’s Village often run higher than options in Brewerton or nearby hamlets along Oneida Lake due to convenience and real estate costs.
Cicero has typical Upstate New York seasonal swings, with cold, snowy winters and warm, humid summers. These conditions can affect stored items such as wooden furniture or electronics without climate-controlled storage. Neighborhoods closer to Oneida Lake, including Forest Beach and Lower South Bay, often see higher demand for storage units that protect against summer moisture and humidity from lake breezes.
Because Cicero’s population has stayed mostly stable with minor declines, storage demand tends to change with seasonal housing patterns instead of sharp market swings. Ask about rate changes during holiday peaks in late fall or winter, as well as after ski and snowmobile season, to better anticipate annual cost changes.
