- I moved from a different storage place and this place was less expensive and Cleaner. If you are on an upper floor, you have to take the elevator and itテ「竄ャ邃「s a little bit of a hassle to type in your code before using the elevator.

- I have a fairly large number of grievances.
I find the necessity to purchase locks an unnecessary exploitation. In fact, when I first went onto the storage unit it was already locked with the Public storage’s lock and we had to jostle with it till we realised and had to go back all the way to call the manager. The locks can easily be part of the rental.
I find the entry/exit rules weird. First, it’s not possible to exit the facility after 6pm — which makes it impossible to move in after 5pm (working hours). However, in the specific facility I was moving into, the manager leaves at 5pm (which we were never told). It makes it impossible to move after 4 pm, and we had to return twice without actually being able to move our stuff. I had to pay quite a lot additionally for renting the trucks twice.
The third time, when we did come in the morning to move. We found the manager absent and gone for the next hour. How understaffed is the facility? Unable to acquire a moving dolly, we had to wait before moving out stuff again.
In my storage unit itself, the lights were not functional and it was pain to move in our stuff where we had to use mobile flashlights just to put out stuff in. We also found a weird plastic bag just sitting on top of the unit, raising questions about the hygiene.
The facility also did not ensure mandatory masking on entry to premise. It was uncomfortable being in proximity of unmasked tenants (again understaffed).
Overall, I was fairly dissatisfied with the moving experience and ended up costing way more money than the prices displayed online.

- They gave me a 4 x 6 when I paid for a 5 x 7. I told them this and they told me that sizes are approximate. They offered another storage space but that one was smaller because there was a pipe in the way. I kept it because I needed it.

- I finally found a home after months of searching. Victoria and Anna made my vacate experience very easy. I have to say this is the best customer service that I have received in a long time. The girls at this location are nothing short of greatness. If I have to come back, this is the location that I would come back to every time. I strongly encourage everyone to come to this location.

- The manager works diligently to serve her clienteles needs.very courteous and helpful. - When I went into the office and inquired about prices & sizes of storage units, I was informed that I could enter the facility at any time. When we finally packed our truck and went to put it in the unit, the facility was closed. This was the worst moving experience I've ever had. Being misinformed by the service representative, made placing my belongings into storage a nightmare from hell! Unfortunately, I had to roll with it and place my belongings into storage the next morning. I would never recommend Public Storage to anyone, especially when there are facilities that have better hours and do not misinform their prospective customers.

Finding and renting trusted self-storage facilities in San Jose, California is now easier through MoversCorp. Compare options and rent storage near you with just a few clicks. We provide the convenience of reserving affordable storage units online or by phone. No credit card or long-term contract is required. Consider us as your solution for finding and reserving a storage facility throughout California, including options for mini storage units and storage containers to suit a variety of needs. The cheapest storage unit in your area may not always be the best choice. Please consider the following factors when selecting a storage unit in San Jose, California.
- Monthly rates are based on features such as 24/7 access, climate control, facility security, location, and overall demand in your area.
- For household goods, the most common storage unit sizes are 5x5, 5x10, 10x10, and 10X15. For added flexibility, some companies also offer portable mini storage units for rent for temporary residential use that can be delivered to your property or hauled by you for on-site storage.
- Many facilities offer larger unit sizes for commercial and business storage, like 10x20 or 10x30. These sizes are ideal for storing office equipment, inventory, or business records. These sizes can also accommodate vehicles, making them a great option for car storage.
- Most storage facilities require insurance for stored items. If you don’t have your own policy, you may need to buy one through the facility, adding about $15 to $50 to your storage rental cost each month. Some places also charge a refundable deposit or an administrative fee when you move in. Always ask about these costs and refund conditions before signing a lease.
- Storage facilities with flexible leases allow you to rent on a month-to-month basis. Be aware that storage unit price increases are common. Many customers say their rates go up after a few months, sometimes more than once a year. Since storage rentals are month-to-month, facilities can raise prices with proper notice. Ask about potential rate increases before committing to a unit.
- The monthly rent will also depend on whether a facility offers climate-controlled units or only drive-up units. Climate-controlled units cost more than drive-up units or storage containers.
- Most locations have digital keypad access, which provides you with your personal access code. Check with the office for availability.
- Consider drive-up access for easier loading and unloading, especially for heavy or bulky items.
- Some facilities may provide extra room or rental space for public use, such as areas for organizing or handling your stored items. Contact the property manager to confirm availability.
- Check for online reviews and recommendations. Local experts can guide renters to facilities that stay available and maintain reliable service during peak demand.
- Ask the office about the preventive security measures for safeguarding the location. Facilities with experienced staff often maintain stronger daily oversight by monitoring access logs and responding quickly to tenant concerns.
Are there free storage deals in San Jose, California?
Many companies offer promotions for new customers, such as a free first month. Search by your zip code or distance to locate cheap storage units that come with the first month free and other decent storage discounts. Take advantage of specials if you're a first-time renter.
How do I find the cheapest storage in San Jose?
You can sort by price, from low to high, to find affordable options on our website. Away from the city center, you have a better chance of finding inexpensive storage rental solutions. The facility's size and amenities affect the monthly price.
What is the difference between an indoor and outdoor unit?
You have easy access to your unit when it is an outdoor unit. If the unit is indoors, you must first enter the building to get to it.
What is the difference between office hours and gate hours?
The property's operating hours are during office hours. The store manager will be on duty to help you with your questions. If you have questions or need help outside these hours, look up the property's phone number to contact the leasing office directly. The gate hours determine when you can enter the property and use your unit.
