- For the price, I wasn't expecting something fancy, the doors are a bit stuck, the lighting is very limited, but the place is generally secure. There could be better accommodations, but again, for the price, you get what you pay for. I wouldn't keep items in this storage for a very long period of time.

- I got a unit in Newark, on Cedar Blvd in the beginning of January. It was around $80 to get everything set-up. Getting a space is a relatively easy process. I moved all my stuff and the first month was awesome, no complaints, really. It was after I paid for February, however, that I found myself *slightly* annoyed. I was forced to move out of the area more quickly than anticipated, and I only had my storage space for 8 days in February. When I closed out the space, I didn't expect a large refund or anything, but I was hoping I could get some sort of pro-rated return with some sort of fee, or something. Nothing. It's kind of like, "Oh well, it's not our problem YOU had an emergency. We're just going to keep the rest of the money and send you on your way. I get it, I get it... it just seems a little...dare I say, shady? That's 20 days of storage being totally unused. It's a little unrealistic to expect people to coordinate their lives in accordance to an end-of-the-month deadline for a storage space. MOST people do, but emergencies happen, and we shouldn't be disregarded for being in a difficult situation. It's just bad business, overall. Good profit, for sure, but at the expense of another within an arguably unethical policy. I think a good solution would be this: charge a $15-25 "convenience fee," pro-rate the days unused, give back a portion of the money, and there you go. Problem solved, and it comes off as a really nice gesture to your customers. Just an idea.

Finding and renting self-storage facilities in San Carlos, California is now easier through MoversCorp. Compare options and rent storage near you with just a few clicks. We provide the convenience of reserving affordable storage units online or by phone. No credit card or long-term contract is required. Consider us as your solution for finding and reserving storage facilities throughout California, including options for mini storage units and storage containers to suit a variety of needs. The cheapest storage unit in your area may not always be the best choice. Please consider the following factors when selecting a storage unit in San Carlos, California.
- Monthly rates are based on features such as 24/7 access, climate control, facility security, location, and overall demand in your area.
- For household goods, the most common storage unit sizes are 5x5, 5x10, 10x10, and 10X15. For added flexibility, some companies also offer portable mini storage units for rent for temporary residential use that can be delivered to your property or hauled by you for on-site storage.
- Many facilities offer larger unit sizes for commercial and business storage, like 10x20 or 10x30. These sizes are ideal for storing office equipment, inventory, or business records. These sizes can also accommodate vehicles, making them a great option for car storage.
- Most storage facilities require insurance for stored items. If you don’t have your own policy, you may need to buy one through the facility, adding about $15 to $50 to your storage rental cost each month. Some places also charge a refundable deposit or an administrative fee when you move in. Always ask about these costs and refund conditions before signing a lease.
- Storage facilities with flexible leases allow you to rent on a month-to-month basis. Be aware that storage unit price increases are common. Many customers say their rates go up after a few months, sometimes more than once a year. Since storage rentals are month-to-month, facilities can raise prices with proper notice. Ask about potential rate increases before committing to a unit.
- The monthly rent will also depend on whether a facility offers climate-controlled units or only drive-up units. Climate-controlled units cost more than drive-up units or storage containers.
- Most locations have digital keypad access, which provides you with your personal access code. Check with the office for availability.
- Consider drive-up access for easier loading and unloading, especially for heavy or bulky items.
- Some facilities may provide extra room or rental space for public use, such as areas for organizing or handling your stored items. Contact the property manager to confirm availability.
- Check for online reviews and recommendations.
- Ask the office about the preventive security measures for safeguarding the location.

How do I find the cheapest storage in San Carlos?
You can sort by price, from low to high, to find affordable options on our website. Away from the city center, you have a better chance of finding inexpensive storage rental solutions. The facility's size and amenities affect the monthly price.
What is the difference between an indoor and outdoor unit?
You have easy access to your unit when it is an outdoor unit. If the unit is indoors, you must first enter the building to get to it.
What is the difference between office hours and gate hours?
The property's operating hours are during office hours. The store manager will be on duty to help you with your questions. If you have questions or need help outside these hours, look up the property's phone number to contact the leasing office directly. The gate hours determine when you can enter the property and use your unit.
