Moving yourself is the most cost-effective way to move. The following post includes information on how to estimate the price of the DIY move.
How Much It Costs to Move Yourself

Moving is always stressful. There are many tasks to complete, and sometimes, we don't have enough time to finish them all. Creating a checklist will help you stay organized and ready for moving day.
How To Organize a Move

Moving day is here, but your helpers have backed out. If you’re stuck without labor, stay calm and focus on finding help fast. Hiring labor-only movers is one option. They handle loading or unloading trucks and often bring tools like dollies or lifting straps. Many can be booked through apps that handle short-notice requests.

Another option is hiring day laborers from verified local staffing centers. This route often costs less, but workers may not bring equipment or have moving experience, so make sure they fit your needs. Confirm whether the workers are insured or bonded through the company or service. Before hiring anyone, check ratings, confirm pricing details, and ask if they bring their own tools.
Professional Movers vs Day Laborers

People hire moving companies to transport their belongings from one home to another. Unfortunately, things can go wrong. Learn how to avoid common moving mistakes.
Common Moving Mistakes To Avoid

I've had several public storage units in the past and this is the best customer service I have ever had. Cliff was really really helpful and had excellent advice regarding the type of storage unit and etc. He spent a lot of time making sure i understood everything. He never too pushy or didn't make me feel rushed. I had only came in there to get information and look at some pricing. I didn't even purchase a storage that day but he still have excellent service! Would definitely come back in the future.

The pricing drew me to this facility and I've rented from Public Storage several times before. The women that showed me the unit and rented to me on Tuesday were really great even though the numbering of units is strange. However, no-one told me the facility would be closed at my scheduled move in time. When I arrived the facility was blocked off and I called the number listed for the facility and got a corporate person that said to use another entrance. No other entrance. I had movers and their truck loaded with my furniture and no where to go at 6:00!!! The pavement was now dry but the manager would not give us any time to unload into the space. This was an expensive disaster for me.

This place is awesome! I recently moved from my house to a one bedroom apartment so I had a ton of stuff that I needed to stash. Perplexed on the process of renting out a unit I was helped out by Eddie. Eddie was calm and collected and helped me choose the best unit of the amount of things I had. Can't beat the price and the facility is well kept. Definitely one of the best PS in the city

Good check in service and attention to customer during check in process. BUT they are totally inflexible when it comes to changing/modifying AFTER, even if you notify WITHIN 24 hours. I tried to get a different (more expensive) unit, for a longer rental period and they “couldn’t revise the contract without a paying penalty — even within 24 hours.” That is sad and counter productive. Businesses that are not flexible will not survive. It was disappointing and left a sour taste on the whole process. Other than that, excellent location, space. Not entirely sure i would recommend unless they demonstrate some kind of attempt to rectify.

Finding and renting trusted self-storage facilities in Daly City, California is now easier through MoversCorp. Compare options and rent storage near you with just a few clicks. We provide the convenience of reserving affordable storage units online or by phone. No credit card or long-term contract is required. Consider us as your solution for finding and reserving a storage facility throughout California, including options for mini storage units and storage containers to suit a variety of needs.

The cheapest storage unit in your area may not always be the best choice. Please consider the following factors when selecting a storage unit in Daly City, California.

  • Monthly rates are based on features such as 24/7 access, climate control, facility security, location, and overall demand in your area.

  • For household goods, the most common storage unit sizes are 5x5, 5x10, 10x10, and 10X15. For added flexibility, some companies also offer portable mini storage units for rent for temporary residential use that can be delivered to your property or hauled by you for on-site storage.

  • Many facilities offer larger unit sizes for commercial and business storage, like 10x20 or 10x30. These sizes are ideal for storing office equipment, inventory, or business records. These sizes can also accommodate vehicles, making them a great option for car storage.

  • Most storage facilities require insurance for stored items. If you don’t have your own policy, you may need to buy one through the facility, adding about $15 to $50 to your storage rental cost each month. Some places also charge a refundable deposit or an administrative fee when you move in. Always ask about these costs and refund conditions before signing a lease.

  • Storage facilities with flexible leases allow you to rent on a month-to-month basis. Be aware that storage unit price increases are common. Many customers say their rates go up after a few months, sometimes more than once a year. Since storage rentals are month-to-month, facilities can raise prices with proper notice. Ask about potential rate increases before committing to a unit.

  • The monthly rent will also depend on whether a facility offers climate-controlled units or only drive-up units. Climate-controlled units cost more than drive-up units or storage containers.

  • Most locations have digital keypad access, which provides you with your personal access code. Check with the office for availability.
  • Consider drive-up access for easier loading and unloading, especially for heavy or bulky items.

  • Some facilities may provide extra room or rental space for public use, such as areas for organizing or handling your stored items. Contact the property manager to confirm availability.

  • Check for online reviews and recommendations. Local experts can guide renters to facilities that stay available and maintain reliable service during peak demand.

  • Ask the office about the preventive security measures for safeguarding the location. Facilities with experienced staff often maintain stronger daily oversight by monitoring access logs and responding quickly to tenant concerns.

Are there free storage deals in Daly City, California?

Many companies offer promotions for new customers, such as a free first month. Search by your zip code or distance to locate cheap storage units that come with the first month free and other decent storage discounts. Take advantage of specials if you're a first-time renter.

How do I find the cheapest storage in Daly City?

You can sort by price, from low to high, to find affordable options on our website. Away from the city center, you have a better chance of finding inexpensive storage rental solutions. The facility's size and amenities affect the monthly price.

What is the difference between an indoor and outdoor unit?

You have easy access to your unit when it is an outdoor unit. If the unit is indoors, you must first enter the building to get to it.

What is the difference between office hours and gate hours?

The property's operating hours are during office hours. The store manager will be on duty to help you with your questions. If you have questions or need help outside these hours, look up the property's phone number to contact the leasing office directly. The gate hours determine when you can enter the property and use your unit.
