- Rented storage unit for my brother and used his card, however, they put rental under my name, my mistake, so we had to cancel that unit and do the process all over again under his name. Which was ok until they would not credit back all the fees charged. What a ripoff.

- There was no lock in the unit, nobody at the desk, lights did not work and it was very, very difficult to opt out of insurance on the unit. Plenty of parking, clean area, water and bathrooms available easy to get to the locker with the elevators.

- I started off in Monrovia's Public Storage because I already had a storage unit there but when I was told that I couldn't be prorated, and that I would have to pay the whole cost, if I needed a bigger storage unit. I felt that I was not being handle fairly. However, I was sent over to the Public Storage in Arcadia. Tehya KNEW HER STUFF!!!! She took out time with me and explained everything in detail to me. Although, I ended up with two separate storage units at two different sites. It was worth it because she was nice and she was willing to bend over backwards for the service. She has a great attitude and she keeps the grounds very clean there. I was very tired that day and she was what I needed. I got my storage unit with a smile. Thanks, Tehya!

Finding and renting trusted self-storage facilities in Whittier, California is now easier through MoversCorp. Compare options and rent storage near you with just a few clicks. We provide the convenience of reserving affordable storage units online or by phone. No credit card or long-term contract is required. Consider us as your solution for finding and reserving a storage facility throughout California, including options for mini storage units and storage containers to suit a variety of needs. The cheapest storage unit in your area may not always be the best choice. Please consider the following factors when selecting a storage unit in Whittier, California.
- Monthly rates are based on features such as 24/7 access, climate control, facility security, location, and overall demand in your area.
- For household goods, the most common storage unit sizes are 5x5, 5x10, 10x10, and 10X15. For added flexibility, some companies also offer portable mini storage units for rent for temporary residential use that can be delivered to your property or hauled by you for on-site storage.
- Many facilities offer larger unit sizes for commercial and business storage, like 10x20 or 10x30. These sizes are ideal for storing office equipment, inventory, or business records. These sizes can also accommodate vehicles, making them a great option for car storage.
- Most storage facilities require insurance for stored items. If you don’t have your own policy, you may need to buy one through the facility, adding about $15 to $50 to your storage rental cost each month. Some places also charge a refundable deposit or an administrative fee when you move in. Always ask about these costs and refund conditions before signing a lease.
- Storage facilities with flexible leases allow you to rent on a month-to-month basis. Be aware that storage unit price increases are common. Many customers say their rates go up after a few months, sometimes more than once a year. Since storage rentals are month-to-month, facilities can raise prices with proper notice. Ask about potential rate increases before committing to a unit.
- The monthly rent will also depend on whether a facility offers climate-controlled units or only drive-up units. Climate-controlled units cost more than drive-up units or storage containers.
- Most locations have digital keypad access, which provides you with your personal access code. Check with the office for availability.
- Consider drive-up access for easier loading and unloading, especially for heavy or bulky items.
- Some facilities may provide extra room or rental space for public use, such as areas for organizing or handling your stored items. Contact the property manager to confirm availability.
- Check for online reviews and recommendations. Local experts can guide renters to facilities that stay available and maintain reliable service during peak demand.
- Ask the office about the preventive security measures for safeguarding the location. Facilities with experienced staff often maintain stronger daily oversight by monitoring access logs and responding quickly to tenant concerns.
Are there free storage deals in Whittier, California?
Many companies offer promotions for new customers, such as a free first month. Search by your zip code or distance to locate cheap storage units that come with the first month free and other decent storage discounts. Take advantage of specials if you're a first-time renter.
How do I find the cheapest storage in Whittier?
You can sort by price, from low to high, to find affordable options on our website. Away from the city center, you have a better chance of finding inexpensive storage rental solutions. The facility's size and amenities affect the monthly price.
What is the difference between an indoor and outdoor unit?
You have easy access to your unit when it is an outdoor unit. If the unit is indoors, you must first enter the building to get to it.
What is the difference between office hours and gate hours?
The property's operating hours are during office hours. The store manager will be on duty to help you with your questions. If you have questions or need help outside these hours, look up the property's phone number to contact the leasing office directly. The gate hours determine when you can enter the property and use your unit.
Whittier Boulevard is the city's main east-west arterial and runs about 6.4 miles through Whittier. Uptown streets, including Philadelphia Street and Greenleaf Avenue, usually have fewer travel lanes and include curbside or angled parking. Before choosing a storage location, map the moving truck route instead of relying only on straight-line distance. A storage unit with direct access from Whittier Boulevard may work better for multiple large loads than one that requires several turns through Uptown's narrower streets.
Commercial and industrial development in Whittier has long followed the city's major transportation corridors. The Whittier Boulevard Specific Plan continues to designate a Workplace District for employment-related uses. Businesses should compare access from Whittier Boulevard with routes that use Lambert Road because railroad crossings affect several intersections, including Colima Road, Mills Avenue, and Santa Gertrudes Avenue. Train-related traffic signals at those crossings can temporarily delay inventory deliveries or vehicle trips, even when the storage facility is nearby.
When comparing storage locations in Whittier, consider the city's east-west layout along Whittier Boulevard, which the city identifies as a primary corridor connecting to the San Gabriel River Freeway (I-605). Compare how easily you can reach a storage unit from Whittier Boulevard, Greenleaf Avenue, Lambert Road, or Mills Avenue based on where you live or work.
