- Not the cleanest facility we have had. When I signed up i inspected the unit and it was fine....when i came back later another renter was smoking in their unit and made the whole building smell of cigarettes. I am going to call and file a complaint and hopefully the situation gets fixed.

- When I signed up there was no promotion as other branches provided. In total for the first month I paid 107 which include Insurance around December 22, 2023. On March 22, this company charged my account without my knowledge or permission $203.00 almost 95% -100% more on my bill without consent. The company claim to have sent out a post card which could have been lost by mail. Self-storage rental agreements now must request that tenants provide two email addresses and a mobile number. Facility operators must also inform customers, either within the rental agreement or via verified mail, of the company’s right to enforce a lien. If this information is included in the lease, it must be in bold type at least 12 points in size, and the customer must initial next to the language when signing. If delivered by mail, the information must also be sent via email and text message. None of these procedures were done. The company should disclose to every client the time in which rates would be increased and by how much. The storage company should give account of price gorging and inability to disclose to customers in a timely manner or in the agreement of their increase percent over a period of time.

- DO NOT RENT FROM Prime Storage in Farmingdale. They should be shut down. The outside door does not lock so anyone can walk in at any time. There is one elevator in the entire storage facility and IT NEVER WORKS. There are NEVER moving carts or hand trucks so you have to carry everything up and down steps The doors are all different sizes so, your box or furniture might fit in the 1st floor door but when you get to the top of the steps (yes - is said steps because the elevator never works) the door is a different, smaller size, so, your item may not fit through that door and you are stuck in the stairwell with your item. Management is despicable. I was due for a credit and I was told (this is not a joke) that because I was leaving the facility they were no longer giving me my credit because they didn't care anymore since I was no longer going to be a customer. If you leave even one minute past 10pm you are locked IN - NOT JOKING. The gate to leave the facility does NOT OPEN after 10pm from the inside. We were locked in. When we called the Prime Storage support number they didn't know what to do. We were stuck in the parking lot for over an hour and almost had to call the police to get us out. After speaking with other customers I met at the facility they were also moving out because of the same poor management and deplorable conditions of the facility. Prime storage might very well be one of the worst companies I have dealt with in a very long time. I also rent from Lifetime in Hicksville and they are WONDERFUL. Clean, always have carts and courteous staff. My advice to anyone considering Prime Storage in Farmingdale is DON'T DO IT. YOU WILL REGRET IT. You will be carrying your boxes with no hand trucks up and down 2 flights of steps and the management is rude, and does not care about you at all.
