- Rented a unit to store a vehicle. Price seemed higher than competitors, but I need a spot before winter comes. When I arrived to sign the contract, I was presented with a “Safeguard Program” fee, which was explained as a state-mandated fee. Turns out the Safeguard Program is simply overpriced insurance policy and as for being state-mandated -well, that appears to be simply false. When I objected to the add-on, I was told “it’s company policy” and not negotiable. Don’t need it, don’t want it, but I have to pay it. Pure money-grab.
