- I went to a few different locations to find out more information and prices. I only have a few items that need to be in storage, one of them, being a good size couch. I decided that this location was best suited for me. Not only was the manager Kelly extremely courteous and friendly, she took the time to help me figure out the best sized unit that suited my needs. Other places where not as helpful. I definitely recommend this place. Great customer service, and extremely clean. I feel my belongings are safe and secure here. Thanks again public storage danvers!!!

- The only thing is I think the insurance should have been mentioned up front. It was not.
I don't have a problem paying the $10 per month it was just surprising that I got that information after I rented it.
Other wise person I spoke with was great.

Find a Storage Unit For Rent Near You
Stor U Self 12 Kent Way, Byfield - Topsfield, MA 01922 978-653-4095
Finding and renting trusted self-storage facilities in Topsfield, Massachusetts is now easier through MoversCorp. Compare options and rent storage near you with just a few clicks. We provide the convenience of reserving affordable storage units online or by phone. No credit card or long-term contract is required. Consider us as your solution for finding and reserving a storage facility throughout Massachusetts, including options for mini storage units and storage containers to suit a variety of needs. The cheapest storage unit in your area may not always be the best choice. Please consider the following factors when selecting a storage unit in Topsfield, Massachusetts.
- Monthly rates are based on features such as 24/7 access, climate control, facility security, location, and overall demand in your area.
- For household goods, the most common storage unit sizes are 5x5, 5x10, 10x10, and 10X15. For added flexibility, some companies also offer portable mini storage units for rent for temporary residential use that can be delivered to your property or hauled by you for on-site storage.
- Many facilities offer larger unit sizes for commercial and business storage, like 10x20 or 10x30. These sizes are ideal for storing office equipment, inventory, or business records. These sizes can also accommodate vehicles, making them a great option for car storage.
- Most storage facilities require insurance for stored items. If you don’t have your own policy, you may need to buy one through the facility, adding about $15 to $50 to your storage rental cost each month. Some places also charge a refundable deposit or an administrative fee when you move in. Always ask about these costs and refund conditions before signing a lease.
- Storage facilities with flexible leases allow you to rent on a month-to-month basis. Be aware that storage unit price increases are common. Many customers say their rates go up after a few months, sometimes more than once a year. Since storage rentals are month-to-month, facilities can raise prices with proper notice. Ask about potential rate increases before committing to a unit.
- The monthly rent will also depend on whether a facility offers climate-controlled units or only drive-up units. Climate-controlled units cost more than drive-up units or storage containers.
- Most locations have digital keypad access, which provides you with your personal access code. Check with the office for availability.
- Consider drive-up access for easier loading and unloading, especially for heavy or bulky items.
- Some facilities may provide extra room or rental space for public use, such as areas for organizing or handling your stored items. Contact the property manager to confirm availability.
- Check for online reviews and recommendations. Local experts can guide renters to facilities that stay available and maintain reliable service during peak demand.
- Ask the office about the preventive security measures for safeguarding the location. Facilities with experienced staff often maintain stronger daily oversight by monitoring access logs and responding quickly to tenant concerns.
Are there free storage deals in Topsfield, Massachusetts?
Many companies offer promotions for new customers, such as a free first month. Search by your zip code or distance to locate cheap storage units that come with the first month free and other decent storage discounts. Take advantage of specials if you're a first-time renter.
How do I find the cheapest storage in Topsfield?
You can sort by price, from low to high, to find affordable options on our website. Away from the city center, you have a better chance of finding inexpensive storage rental solutions. The facility's size and amenities affect the monthly price.
What is the difference between an indoor and outdoor unit?
You have easy access to your unit when it is an outdoor unit. If the unit is indoors, you must first enter the building to get to it.
What is the difference between office hours and gate hours?
The property's operating hours are during office hours. The store manager will be on duty to help you with your questions. If you have questions or need help outside these hours, look up the property's phone number to contact the leasing office directly. The gate hours determine when you can enter the property and use your unit.
Topsfield is a small town in Essex County on the North Shore of Massachusetts. It sits about 25 miles north of Boston along US-1 and near Interstate 95, making storage facilities easy to reach from nearby communities. The town is mostly residential and has a rural feel. Many renters compare storage locations along the Route 1 corridor to find easier access to the highway.
Topsfield has warm, humid summers and freezing, snowy winters. Average highs rise above 80 °F in July, and lows drop near 20 °F in January. Climate-controlled storage matters if you store items that can be damaged by seasonal temperature swings.
Storage demand rises in winter and early spring when residents move or clear out seasonal gear. Higher demand can raise prices at facilities near main roads such as Route 1 and Route 97.
In less developed areas west of US-1, storage rentals may cost less than units near the commercial stretch along Route 1, where demand is higher. Topsfield’s cost of living is above the U.S. average. Compare unit prices with the extra commute time to facilities farther from the town center before deciding.
If you live near the village center around Topsfield Town Hall on Main Street, also known as Route 97, or along Washington Street, also known as Route 1, check with the Town of Topsfield Building Department before placing a portable storage container on your driveway. Some residential zones require you to follow setback rules or temporary structure guidelines. Confirm placement approval before delivery to avoid removal notices or fines.
During the annual Topsfield Fair at the Essex Agricultural Society grounds on Boston Street, heavier traffic and short-term housing moves can limit storage availability in the area. If you plan to rent storage in early fall, reserve it early rather than waiting until you arrive. This helps you avoid limited unit selection during the fair.
