- The staff was very accommodating to a last minute change. I have been taking items to Metro for the last 5 days. I also go at very different times. It's always clean and I am comfortable enough to go alone at 11pm. Just a good feeling from the reservation to move in

- This company was so great to me from online to in person. Some companies have great websites, however, when you arrive the experience doesn't reflect the advertising. Not here, it was just as accomdating. The representative was so kind and friendly. She was patient and understanding. I think what hurts companies is that they teach policy and procedures but forget you can't teach compassion. That is a trait you have or don't, so hiring a resourceful and caring person for customers is key. They did that here. Thank you for putting customers first.

Finding and renting trusted self-storage facilities in Leeds, Alabama is now easier through MoversCorp. Compare options and rent storage near you with just a few clicks. We provide the convenience of reserving affordable storage units online or by phone. No credit card or long-term contract is required. Consider us as your solution for finding and reserving a storage facility throughout Alabama, including options for mini storage units and storage containers to suit a variety of needs. The cheapest storage unit in your area may not always be the best choice. Please consider the following factors when selecting a storage unit in Leeds, Alabama.
- Monthly rates are based on features such as 24/7 access, climate control, facility security, location, and overall demand in your area.
- For household goods, the most common storage unit sizes are 5x5, 5x10, 10x10, and 10X15. For added flexibility, some companies also offer portable mini storage units for rent for temporary residential use that can be delivered to your property or hauled by you for on-site storage.
- Many facilities offer larger unit sizes for commercial and business storage, like 10x20 or 10x30. These sizes are ideal for storing office equipment, inventory, or business records. These sizes can also accommodate vehicles, making them a great option for car storage.
- Most storage facilities require insurance for stored items. If you don’t have your own policy, you may need to buy one through the facility, adding about $15 to $50 to your storage rental cost each month. Some places also charge a refundable deposit or an administrative fee when you move in. Always ask about these costs and refund conditions before signing a lease.
- Storage facilities with flexible leases allow you to rent on a month-to-month basis. Be aware that storage unit price increases are common. Many customers say their rates go up after a few months, sometimes more than once a year. Since storage rentals are month-to-month, facilities can raise prices with proper notice. Ask about potential rate increases before committing to a unit.
- The monthly rent will also depend on whether a facility offers climate-controlled units or only drive-up units. Climate-controlled units cost more than drive-up units or storage containers.
- Most locations have digital keypad access, which provides you with your personal access code. Check with the office for availability.
- Consider drive-up access for easier loading and unloading, especially for heavy or bulky items.
- Some facilities may provide extra room or rental space for public use, such as areas for organizing or handling your stored items. Contact the property manager to confirm availability.
- Check for online reviews and recommendations. Local experts can guide renters to facilities that stay available and maintain reliable service during peak demand.
- Ask the office about the preventive security measures for safeguarding the location. Facilities with experienced staff often maintain stronger daily oversight by monitoring access logs and responding quickly to tenant concerns.
Are there free storage deals in Leeds, Alabama?
Many companies offer promotions for new customers, such as a free first month. Search by your zip code or distance to locate cheap storage units that come with the first month free and other decent storage discounts. Take advantage of specials if you're a first-time renter.
How do I find the cheapest storage in Leeds?
You can sort by price, from low to high, to find affordable options on our website. Away from the city center, you have a better chance of finding inexpensive storage rental solutions. The facility's size and amenities affect the monthly price.
What is the difference between an indoor and outdoor unit?
You have easy access to your unit when it is an outdoor unit. If the unit is indoors, you must first enter the building to get to it.
What is the difference between office hours and gate hours?
The property's operating hours are during office hours. The store manager will be on duty to help you with your questions. If you have questions or need help outside these hours, look up the property's phone number to contact the leasing office directly. The gate hours determine when you can enter the property and use your unit.
Leeds spans Jefferson County and St. Clair County, which affects storage availability and pricing because zoning rules and land use differ between the two counties. The city runs along Interstate 20 and U.S. Route 78, which makes certain corridors more accessible for residents relocating within eastern Jefferson County. Leeds’ proximity to Birmingham’s eastern suburbs increases storage demand from households moving between suburban and semi-rural areas. Residential growth has expanded eastward toward St. Clair County, where land availability differs from the denser western parts of the city.
Storage demand is influenced by the city’s position along the Birmingham–Anniston transportation corridor, where land near Interstate 20 faces higher commercial use pressure. Areas closer to the downtown Leeds corridor experience higher turnover due to older housing and smaller lot sizes, which increases the need for off-site storage. Eastern parts of Leeds near St. Clair County are more residential and less dense, which affects availability more than price. Local demand fluctuates with seasonal household moves tied to job changes within the greater Birmingham metro area.
Rate increases tend to align with regional demand changes near major commuting corridors like I-20 and U.S. 78. Storage units closer to Exit 140, the Leeds/Moody exit on I-20, may adjust rates more often due to proximity to Birmingham-bound commuters. If you rent near this corridor, consider locking in promotional pricing when available to limit exposure to rate increases.
Properties farther east toward St. Clair County are on lower-density land compared to western parts closer to Birmingham. This geographic pattern affects availability more than advertised pricing. Residential density decreases as distance from Jefferson County increases. Location relative to county boundaries plays a role in storage supply distribution.
