- My wife and I have had a storage unit (5x10) for almost a year at American Self Storage. Recently we had moved into a house. It did not work out... Short version: the house was a train wreck and we got our money back and moved out after only four days. We were left with nowhere to live and nowhere to put our stuff while we were looking. With the movers coming in the morning we called Kim at American Self Storage and told her the situation. She immediately reserved us two 10x10 storage units. When I arrived with the movers the next morning she had the units all ready for us. The movers fortunately fit everything in one 10x10 and our smaller unit and we did not need the second larger unit. The rates were prorated and we even got a discount for having multiple units. We did find a place and moved out of both units by the end of the month. I was sincerely sad to leave American Self Storage. We felt comfortable that our belonging were safe and well managed and we have genuinely enjoyed the relationship we built with them. It is a rare thing to be sad to leave a place such as a storage facility but when they make you feel so welcome it is hard not to.
