- No regard for renter's property. The concrete floors were upgraded by grinding and resurfacing. The unit was not protected so the water and dust from the process seeped underneath and collected on EVERYTHING inside the unit and totally destroyed a box containing special wall pictures and portraits. Thank goodness they were wrapped in bubble wrap inside that box and protected from the dust and water! No notice was given of impending work nor once it was complete... Nothing! Buildings are old and you can see where trash is simply thrown over the fence surrounding the property. #Neveragain!
Since my post, management has reached out to discuss issues and was very apologetic for the problem. It was suggested I file an insurance claim (since the unit was insured) but portraits and pictures are an "exception" and are not covered. I'll do more research next time! Thank you PS for the resolution.

Finding and renting trusted self-storage facilities in Suitland, Maryland is now easier through MoversCorp. Compare options and rent storage near you with just a few clicks. We provide the convenience of reserving affordable storage units online or by phone. No credit card or long-term contract is required. Consider us as your solution for finding and reserving a storage facility throughout Maryland, including options for mini storage units and storage containers to suit a variety of needs. The cheapest storage unit in your area may not always be the best choice. Please consider the following factors when selecting a storage unit in Suitland, Maryland.
- Monthly rates are based on features such as 24/7 access, climate control, facility security, location, and overall demand in your area.
- For household goods, the most common storage unit sizes are 5x5, 5x10, 10x10, and 10X15. For added flexibility, some companies also offer portable mini storage units for rent for temporary residential use that can be delivered to your property or hauled by you for on-site storage.
- Many facilities offer larger unit sizes for commercial and business storage, like 10x20 or 10x30. These sizes are ideal for storing office equipment, inventory, or business records. These sizes can also accommodate vehicles, making them a great option for car storage.
- Most storage facilities require insurance for stored items. If you don’t have your own policy, you may need to buy one through the facility, adding about $15 to $50 to your storage rental cost each month. Some places also charge a refundable deposit or an administrative fee when you move in. Always ask about these costs and refund conditions before signing a lease.
- Storage facilities with flexible leases allow you to rent on a month-to-month basis. Be aware that storage unit price increases are common. Many customers say their rates go up after a few months, sometimes more than once a year. Since storage rentals are month-to-month, facilities can raise prices with proper notice. Ask about potential rate increases before committing to a unit.
- The monthly rent will also depend on whether a facility offers climate-controlled units or only drive-up units. Climate-controlled units cost more than drive-up units or storage containers.
- Most locations have digital keypad access, which provides you with your personal access code. Check with the office for availability.
- Consider drive-up access for easier loading and unloading, especially for heavy or bulky items.
- Some facilities may provide extra room or rental space for public use, such as areas for organizing or handling your stored items. Contact the property manager to confirm availability.
- Check for online reviews and recommendations. Local experts can guide renters to facilities that stay available and maintain reliable service during peak demand.
- Ask the office about the preventive security measures for safeguarding the location. Facilities with experienced staff often maintain stronger daily oversight by monitoring access logs and responding quickly to tenant concerns.
Are there free storage deals in Suitland, Maryland?
Many companies offer promotions for new customers, such as a free first month. Search by your zip code or distance to locate cheap storage units that come with the first month free and other decent storage discounts. Take advantage of specials if you're a first-time renter.
How do I find the cheapest storage in Suitland?
You can sort by price, from low to high, to find affordable options on our website. Away from the city center, you have a better chance of finding inexpensive storage rental solutions. The facility's size and amenities affect the monthly price.
What is the difference between an indoor and outdoor unit?
You have easy access to your unit when it is an outdoor unit. If the unit is indoors, you must first enter the building to get to it.
What is the difference between office hours and gate hours?
The property's operating hours are during office hours. The store manager will be on duty to help you with your questions. If you have questions or need help outside these hours, look up the property's phone number to contact the leasing office directly. The gate hours determine when you can enter the property and use your unit.
Suitland is in Prince George’s County, just southeast of Washington, D.C. This location contributes to higher baseline storage demand from commuter turnover and short-distance household moves.
Suitland Parkway, a federally maintained route connecting to the District, directly influences the area. It improves accessibility and concentrates storage demand near major corridors. U.S. Census data shows that many Suitland residents live in multi-unit housing. This housing pattern increases reliance on off-site storage for seasonal and limited-space needs.
Suitland has an average elevation of about 200 feet above sea level. Its gently sloping terrain drains toward the Anacostia River watershed, which makes moisture exposure a practical concern for stored goods. Some parts of the community fall within FEMA-mapped moderate flood-risk zones tied to nearby tributaries. These conditions influence how storage buildings are constructed and priced. Units farther from low-lying drainage areas often see higher demand because of lower environmental risk.
Suitland storage pricing is strongly influenced by proximity to Joint Base Andrews. Military relocations and civilian support staff create recurring storage demand. Seasonal demand spikes often occur in late spring and summer when moving activity increases across Prince George’s County. Facilities near high-traffic corridors like Pennsylvania Avenue (MD-4) often see higher demand because of easier regional access.
Suitland experiences hot, humid summers and cold winters typical of the Mid-Atlantic region. July humidity often stays high for extended periods. These conditions can affect stored materials such as paper records, electronics, and wood furniture. Climate considerations in this area depend on local weather patterns rather than general storage preferences.
