- I love the property manager Nicolette! She is super AWESOME! She knows the job very well and she is very patient! She helped me decide on a storage space. She is a HUGE asset to public storage because I have been to some not so nice ones in the past and she was by far the best ever! I couldn't stop thanking her.

- I got an offer of a "new customer" rental rate through SpareFoot but the ESS employee said she couldn't give it to me because I already had a couple of units there. She maintained that she couldn't help me get the lower rate. So that was a disappointment, but my new larger unit meets my needs. My old units were closet size. The rent on both has steadily climbed since I moved into each one. This new unit is equal to the two combined. I moved everything out of the old units and into my new one, cancelled the old units' rental, and I can keep my stuff at the same place (saving me from having to rent a moving truck or a van) at less than half of what I was paying for the two old smaller units.
The facility is clean, a little dark due to the energy saving lights it uses. It's colder inside than I remember it being when another storage company owned it years ago. The lights in the halls are on motion sensors, so they stay off until someone walks by; but even when on, they're not very bright. The building now has free guest wifi, which wasn't there with the other company. You can use the ESS app and Bluetooth to open the outside doors and operate the elevator, or just use the old-fashioned method of punching your code into the keypad.
One continuing disappointment is that the onsite bathroom is kept locked "so that people don't do drugs in it". You can get into the bathroom during office hours, but after hours you have to hold it or walk to the restaurant a few hundred feet down the block to use their bathroom.

Finding and renting trusted self-storage facilities in Hillside, Illinois is now easier through MoversCorp. Compare options and rent storage near you with just a few clicks. We provide the convenience of reserving affordable storage units online or by phone. No credit card or long-term contract is required. Consider us as your solution for finding and reserving a storage facility throughout Illinois, including options for mini storage units and storage containers to suit a variety of needs. The cheapest storage unit in your area may not always be the best choice. Please consider the following factors when selecting a storage unit in Hillside, Illinois.
- Monthly rates are based on features such as 24/7 access, climate control, facility security, location, and overall demand in your area.
- For household goods, the most common storage unit sizes are 5x5, 5x10, 10x10, and 10X15. For added flexibility, some companies also offer portable mini storage units for rent for temporary residential use that can be delivered to your property or hauled by you for on-site storage.
- Many facilities offer larger unit sizes for commercial and business storage, like 10x20 or 10x30. These sizes are ideal for storing office equipment, inventory, or business records. These sizes can also accommodate vehicles, making them a great option for car storage.
- Most storage facilities require insurance for stored items. If you don’t have your own policy, you may need to buy one through the facility, adding about $15 to $50 to your storage rental cost each month. Some places also charge a refundable deposit or an administrative fee when you move in. Always ask about these costs and refund conditions before signing a lease.
- Storage facilities with flexible leases allow you to rent on a month-to-month basis. Be aware that storage unit price increases are common. Many customers say their rates go up after a few months, sometimes more than once a year. Since storage rentals are month-to-month, facilities can raise prices with proper notice. Ask about potential rate increases before committing to a unit.
- The monthly rent will also depend on whether a facility offers climate-controlled units or only drive-up units. Climate-controlled units cost more than drive-up units or storage containers.
- Most locations have digital keypad access, which provides you with your personal access code. Check with the office for availability.
- Consider drive-up access for easier loading and unloading, especially for heavy or bulky items.
- Some facilities may provide extra room or rental space for public use, such as areas for organizing or handling your stored items. Contact the property manager to confirm availability.
- Check for online reviews and recommendations. Local experts can guide renters to facilities that stay available and maintain reliable service during peak demand.
- Ask the office about the preventive security measures for safeguarding the location. Facilities with experienced staff often maintain stronger daily oversight by monitoring access logs and responding quickly to tenant concerns.

What is the difference between an indoor and outdoor unit?
You have easy access to your unit when it is an outdoor unit. If the unit is indoors, you must first enter the building to get to it.
What is the difference between office hours and gate hours?
The property's operating hours are during office hours. The store manager will be on duty to help you with your questions. If you have questions or need help outside these hours, look up the property's phone number to contact the leasing office directly. The gate hours determine when you can enter the property and use your unit.
