- I moved in today. Place looks great, but I have a few notes for SpareFoot:
1. There was no truck available, even though it said so on my reservation (that's only for the larger spaces)
2. I had to pay an extra $15 for the key to the space, I recommend it be mentioned beforehand;
3. it was the 2nd floor, my reservation said the first (which I would have preferred)
Just a matter of streamlining the communication between SpareFoot and the actual storage facility!

- You get what you pay for ... I know that we are paying significantly more for our unit at the Van Nuys location in Sherman Oaks but everything here is amazing (and worth the additional costs): the service from the staff, the cleanliness of the whole place, the security of the building/parking, etc. I am so happy we picked this location.

Finding and renting trusted self-storage facilities in West Hollywood, California is now easier through MoversCorp. Compare options and rent storage near you with just a few clicks. We provide the convenience of reserving affordable storage units online or by phone. No credit card or long-term contract is required. Consider us as your solution for finding and reserving a storage facility throughout California, including options for mini storage units and storage containers to suit a variety of needs. The cheapest storage unit in your area may not always be the best choice. Please consider the following factors when selecting a storage unit in West Hollywood, California.
- Monthly rates are based on features such as 24/7 access, climate control, facility security, location, and overall demand in your area.
- For household goods, the most common storage unit sizes are 5x5, 5x10, 10x10, and 10X15. For added flexibility, some companies also offer portable mini storage units for rent for temporary residential use that can be delivered to your property or hauled by you for on-site storage.
- Many facilities offer larger unit sizes for commercial and business storage, like 10x20 or 10x30. These sizes are ideal for storing office equipment, inventory, or business records. These sizes can also accommodate vehicles, making them a great option for car storage.
- Most storage facilities require insurance for stored items. If you don’t have your own policy, you may need to buy one through the facility, adding about $15 to $50 to your storage rental cost each month. Some places also charge a refundable deposit or an administrative fee when you move in. Always ask about these costs and refund conditions before signing a lease.
- Storage facilities with flexible leases allow you to rent on a month-to-month basis. Be aware that storage unit price increases are common. Many customers say their rates go up after a few months, sometimes more than once a year. Since storage rentals are month-to-month, facilities can raise prices with proper notice. Ask about potential rate increases before committing to a unit.
- The monthly rent will also depend on whether a facility offers climate-controlled units or only drive-up units. Climate-controlled units cost more than drive-up units or storage containers.
- Most locations have digital keypad access, which provides you with your personal access code. Check with the office for availability.
- Consider drive-up access for easier loading and unloading, especially for heavy or bulky items.
- Some facilities may provide extra room or rental space for public use, such as areas for organizing or handling your stored items. Contact the property manager to confirm availability.
- Check for online reviews and recommendations. Local experts can guide renters to facilities that stay available and maintain reliable service during peak demand.
- Ask the office about the preventive security measures for safeguarding the location. Facilities with experienced staff often maintain stronger daily oversight by monitoring access logs and responding quickly to tenant concerns.
Are there free storage deals in West Hollywood, California?
Many companies offer promotions for new customers, such as a free first month. Search by your zip code or distance to locate cheap storage units that come with the first month free and other decent storage discounts. Take advantage of specials if you're a first-time renter.
How do I find the cheapest storage in West Hollywood?
You can sort by price, from low to high, to find affordable options on our website. Away from the city center, you have a better chance of finding inexpensive storage rental solutions. The facility's size and amenities affect the monthly price.
What is the difference between an indoor and outdoor unit?
You have easy access to your unit when it is an outdoor unit. If the unit is indoors, you must first enter the building to get to it.
What is the difference between office hours and gate hours?
The property's operating hours are during office hours. The store manager will be on duty to help you with your questions. If you have questions or need help outside these hours, look up the property's phone number to contact the leasing office directly. The gate hours determine when you can enter the property and use your unit.
West Hollywood is an incorporated city in Los Angeles County with one of the highest renter concentrations in Southern California. This drives strong demand for short- and mid-term storage during lease turnovers.
The city’s compact 1.9-square-mile footprint limits industrial zoning. This results in fewer storage properties than in nearby areas like Hollywood or Beverly Grove. This limited supply causes storage availability to tighten quickly during peak moving months. Its central position between Hollywood and Beverly Hills draws residents who move within a small radius instead of leaving the area.
Proximity to major corridors such as Santa Monica Boulevard and Sunset Boulevard often affects access convenience more than price. Units closer to these arterials often see higher demand because box trucks can reach them more easily than narrow residential streets. Limited freeway access within the city can slow loading times during weekday afternoon traffic. Evaluating access routes matters most for residents moving out of dense multifamily buildings.
Residential density influences storage pricing in West Hollywood, where over 90 percent of housing consists of multifamily units. Limited on-site storage in apartment and condo buildings keeps baseline demand high throughout the year. Proximity to employment hubs in Hollywood and Century City contributes to frequent short-distance moves. These demographic and housing patterns keep steady pressure on storage availability, even when regional trends shift.
Insurance requirements are often higher in West Hollywood because urban renters tend to store higher-value household goods. Many multifamily buildings restrict in-unit storage of certain items, which increases reliance on off-site facilities. Many residents move frequently within the Westside and Central LA area. Understanding insurance transferability between locations helps avoid repeated administrative costs. These factors reflect the city’s mobility patterns, not individual facility policies.
