- I had movers put my stuff in storage. Chris contacted me, explained the process for move-in, recommended a more secure lock, and scheduled an in-person meet. He was polite, professional, friendly, and accommodating. I received pics of the storage. Everything looked clean and neat. Iテ「竄ャ邃「ll know more when I go there in person, but the area seemed good also,

- Our RV was stolen from this facility. It is gated and has key code access. They have “security” cameras but they only save the footage for 90 days! So that is NO help. They do space checks weekly and saw that my RV had not been in the space for MONTHS but didn’t bother to call me and check? What’s the point of the space check? I’ve been paying for an empty space for months. I filed a police report. We’ll see how Extra Space handles this going forward. Obviously they are not as secure as they claim to be.

Finding and renting trusted self-storage facilities in Desert Hot Springs, California is now easier through MoversCorp. Compare options and rent storage near you with just a few clicks. We provide the convenience of reserving affordable storage units online or by phone. No credit card or long-term contract is required. Consider us as your solution for finding and reserving a storage facility throughout California, including options for mini storage units and storage containers to suit a variety of needs. The cheapest storage unit in your area may not always be the best choice. Please consider the following factors when selecting a storage unit in Desert Hot Springs, California.
- Monthly rates are based on features such as 24/7 access, climate control, facility security, location, and overall demand in your area.
- For household goods, the most common storage unit sizes are 5x5, 5x10, 10x10, and 10X15. For added flexibility, some companies also offer portable mini storage units for rent for temporary residential use that can be delivered to your property or hauled by you for on-site storage.
- Many facilities offer larger unit sizes for commercial and business storage, like 10x20 or 10x30. These sizes are ideal for storing office equipment, inventory, or business records. These sizes can also accommodate vehicles, making them a great option for car storage.
- Most storage facilities require insurance for stored items. If you don’t have your own policy, you may need to buy one through the facility, adding about $15 to $50 to your storage rental cost each month. Some places also charge a refundable deposit or an administrative fee when you move in. Always ask about these costs and refund conditions before signing a lease.
- Storage facilities with flexible leases allow you to rent on a month-to-month basis. Be aware that storage unit price increases are common. Many customers say their rates go up after a few months, sometimes more than once a year. Since storage rentals are month-to-month, facilities can raise prices with proper notice. Ask about potential rate increases before committing to a unit.
- The monthly rent will also depend on whether a facility offers climate-controlled units or only drive-up units. Climate-controlled units cost more than drive-up units or storage containers.
- Most locations have digital keypad access, which provides you with your personal access code. Check with the office for availability.
- Consider drive-up access for easier loading and unloading, especially for heavy or bulky items.
- Some facilities may provide extra room or rental space for public use, such as areas for organizing or handling your stored items. Contact the property manager to confirm availability.
- Check for online reviews and recommendations. Local experts can guide renters to facilities that stay available and maintain reliable service during peak demand.
- Ask the office about the preventive security measures for safeguarding the location. Facilities with experienced staff often maintain stronger daily oversight by monitoring access logs and responding quickly to tenant concerns.
Are there free storage deals in Desert Hot Springs, California?
Many companies offer promotions for new customers, such as a free first month. Search by your zip code or distance to locate cheap storage units that come with the first month free and other decent storage discounts. Take advantage of specials if you're a first-time renter.
How do I find the cheapest storage in Desert Hot Springs?
You can sort by price, from low to high, to find affordable options on our website. Away from the city center, you have a better chance of finding inexpensive storage rental solutions. The facility's size and amenities affect the monthly price.
What is the difference between an indoor and outdoor unit?
You have easy access to your unit when it is an outdoor unit. If the unit is indoors, you must first enter the building to get to it.
What is the difference between office hours and gate hours?
The property's operating hours are during office hours. The store manager will be on duty to help you with your questions. If you have questions or need help outside these hours, look up the property's phone number to contact the leasing office directly. The gate hours determine when you can enter the property and use your unit.
Desert Hot Springs is in Riverside County, just north of Palm Springs. Its location places it along a high-mobility corridor used by residents moving within the northern Coachella Valley. The city sits between about 900 and 1,200 feet in elevation, which reduces heat exposure compared to lower valley areas.
Storage demand often rises and falls with seasonal population changes tied to winter residents in nearby desert cities. Access to regional movers depends on proximity to State Route 62, which connects the city to Yucca Valley and Interstate 10.
Storage unit prices often vary based on how close a facility is to State Route 62 compared to locations farther inside residential areas west of Palm Drive. Facilities near city limits that border unincorporated Riverside County land are often located in lower-density areas, which can limit nearby storage capacity. Demand also changes because the city has a higher share of renters than some nearby desert communities. These local conditions often carry more weight than advertised base rates when comparing storage units inside city limits.
Because the city sits inside the Coachella Valley Enterprise Zone, some storage facilities adjust rates during peak travel seasons tied to resort activity. Ask whether locations near Two Bunch Palms Trail or Mission Lakes Blvd raise prices during heavy tourism months.
