- I have never used a storage facility before, but I have been to several. However, I have never been to one as clean and well organized, and customer focused as this one. First, I was able to complete the paperwork online. All I had to do was show up with my stuff. I was directed by the friendly staff on where to go and what to do. The topper was that the Lock and instructions where waiting for me in a nice little gift bag inside my locker.

Find a Storage Unit For Rent Near You
EZ Storage 36 Township Line Rd, Elkins Park, PA 19027 215-608-7669
Finding and renting trusted self-storage facilities in Elkins Park, Pennsylvania is now easier through MoversCorp. Compare options and rent storage near you with just a few clicks. We provide the convenience of reserving affordable storage units online or by phone. No credit card or long-term contract is required. Consider us as your solution for finding and reserving a storage facility throughout Pennsylvania, including options for mini storage units and storage containers to suit a variety of needs. The cheapest storage unit in your area may not always be the best choice. Please consider the following factors when selecting a storage unit in Elkins Park, Pennsylvania.
- Monthly rates are based on features such as 24/7 access, climate control, facility security, location, and overall demand in your area.
- For household goods, the most common storage unit sizes are 5x5, 5x10, 10x10, and 10X15. For added flexibility, some companies also offer portable mini storage units for rent for temporary residential use that can be delivered to your property or hauled by you for on-site storage.
- Many facilities offer larger unit sizes for commercial and business storage, like 10x20 or 10x30. These sizes are ideal for storing office equipment, inventory, or business records. These sizes can also accommodate vehicles, making them a great option for car storage.
- Most storage facilities require insurance for stored items. If you don’t have your own policy, you may need to buy one through the facility, adding about $15 to $50 to your storage rental cost each month. Some places also charge a refundable deposit or an administrative fee when you move in. Always ask about these costs and refund conditions before signing a lease.
- Storage facilities with flexible leases allow you to rent on a month-to-month basis. Be aware that storage unit price increases are common. Many customers say their rates go up after a few months, sometimes more than once a year. Since storage rentals are month-to-month, facilities can raise prices with proper notice. Ask about potential rate increases before committing to a unit.
- The monthly rent will also depend on whether a facility offers climate-controlled units or only drive-up units. Climate-controlled units cost more than drive-up units or storage containers.
- Most locations have digital keypad access, which provides you with your personal access code. Check with the office for availability.
- Consider drive-up access for easier loading and unloading, especially for heavy or bulky items.
- Some facilities may provide extra room or rental space for public use, such as areas for organizing or handling your stored items. Contact the property manager to confirm availability.
- Check for online reviews and recommendations. Local experts can guide renters to facilities that stay available and maintain reliable service during peak demand.
- Ask the office about the preventive security measures for safeguarding the location. Facilities with experienced staff often maintain stronger daily oversight by monitoring access logs and responding quickly to tenant concerns.
Are there free storage deals in Elkins Park, Pennsylvania?
Many companies offer promotions for new customers, such as a free first month. Search by your zip code or distance to locate cheap storage units that come with the first month free and other decent storage discounts. Take advantage of specials if you're a first-time renter.
How do I find the cheapest storage in Elkins Park?
You can sort by price, from low to high, to find affordable options on our website. Away from the city center, you have a better chance of finding inexpensive storage rental solutions. The facility's size and amenities affect the monthly price.
What is the difference between an indoor and outdoor unit?
You have easy access to your unit when it is an outdoor unit. If the unit is indoors, you must first enter the building to get to it.
What is the difference between office hours and gate hours?
The property's operating hours are during office hours. The store manager will be on duty to help you with your questions. If you have questions or need help outside these hours, look up the property's phone number to contact the leasing office directly. The gate hours determine when you can enter the property and use your unit.
Elkins Park is in Montgomery County, just north of Philadelphia, along the SEPTA Regional Rail line that serves Elkins Park Station. The area is near major roads, including PA Route 611 (Old York Road) and PA Route 73 (Township Line Road). These routes affect traffic patterns and travel time when you visit a storage unit.
Elkins Park borders the Philadelphia city line, so storage demand often reflects overflow from nearby neighborhoods such as West Oak Lane and residential areas in Cheltenham Township. The township’s residential zoning means most households rely on off-site storage instead of sheds or detached structures on their property.
Elkins Park has humid continental weather with warm summers and cold winters. Montgomery County averages about 43 inches of precipitation each year, including measurable snowfall. Properties near Tookany Creek or low-lying areas along Cheltenham Avenue may have higher seasonal moisture levels. This can affect the type of storage unit renters choose.
Properties near arterial roads, such as Old York Road, often offer greater visibility and easier access. This can increase demand compared to quieter interior residential streets. Storage demand also reflects the area’s older housing stock. Many homes built in the early 20th century have low basement ceilings and small attic spaces.
Cheltenham Township’s zoning code, enforced by the Cheltenham Township Department of Planning and Zoning, restricts long-term outdoor storage on residential lots in neighborhoods such as Cheltenham Village and Wyncote. Homeowners renovating older single-family properties along Church Road or Ashbourne Road often cannot store household items outside for long periods. If you are clearing space during interior updates, off-site storage helps you avoid code compliance issues. This matters most in residential-only zones, where accessory storage structures are limited.
Units located closer to major roads, such as PA Route 611, often see higher demand due to easier access. Properties farther from the Philadelphia border and deeper in Cheltenham Township's residential areas may exhibit different occupancy patterns. Compare drive times from neighborhoods near High School Park and areas closer to Township Line Road to balance convenience and cost.
