- I need to storage some items before downsizing to an apartment and rented a unit at Extra Space Storage. The online process was easy and the representative and manager I spoke with were very helpful and informative. The building and unit are impeccably clean and the codes for the door and elevator are simple to use. My only complaint (which I saw from another customer) is the fees not being known upfront. I received a promotional rate which was great but I had to purchase insurance and the contract says there is no guarantee for how long the rate will remain at the price I paid for the first month. My rate then will go from $33 $11/mo insurance) to $86 $11/mo insurance. I just wish they were more transparent with their pricing but everything else was perfect.
