- I've been paying for storage for the past 3 years at a local place. I was finally forced to move as their prices just kept going up over time. A friend recommended this place to me and I was pleasantly surprised at how great and how easy the process was. I met Jordan, who showed me the unit and did my paperwork with me. He was kind, professional and very accommodating. He was able to find two units for both me and my friend right next to each other. I can't speak to the long term storage, because I'm moving in later this week, but so far, I'm very happy with the process and the price. If you're looking for quality storage at reasonable prices, this is your place to be! Thanks Jordan, for making this a smooth transition!

Finding and renting trusted self-storage facilities in Hingham, Massachusetts is now easier through MoversCorp. Compare options and rent storage near you with just a few clicks. We provide the convenience of reserving affordable storage units online or by phone. No credit card or long-term contract is required. Consider us as your solution for finding and reserving a storage facility throughout Massachusetts, including options for mini storage units and storage containers to suit a variety of needs. The cheapest storage unit in your area may not always be the best choice. Please consider the following factors when selecting a storage unit in Hingham, Massachusetts.
- Monthly rates are based on features such as 24/7 access, climate control, facility security, location, and overall demand in your area.
- For household goods, the most common storage unit sizes are 5x5, 5x10, 10x10, and 10X15. For added flexibility, some companies also offer portable mini storage units for rent for temporary residential use that can be delivered to your property or hauled by you for on-site storage.
- Many facilities offer larger unit sizes for commercial and business storage, like 10x20 or 10x30. These sizes are ideal for storing office equipment, inventory, or business records. These sizes can also accommodate vehicles, making them a great option for car storage.
- Most storage facilities require insurance for stored items. If you don’t have your own policy, you may need to buy one through the facility, adding about $15 to $50 to your storage rental cost each month. Some places also charge a refundable deposit or an administrative fee when you move in. Always ask about these costs and refund conditions before signing a lease.
- Storage facilities with flexible leases allow you to rent on a month-to-month basis. Be aware that storage unit price increases are common. Many customers say their rates go up after a few months, sometimes more than once a year. Since storage rentals are month-to-month, facilities can raise prices with proper notice. Ask about potential rate increases before committing to a unit.
- The monthly rent will also depend on whether a facility offers climate-controlled units or only drive-up units. Climate-controlled units cost more than drive-up units or storage containers.
- Most locations have digital keypad access, which provides you with your personal access code. Check with the office for availability.
- Consider drive-up access for easier loading and unloading, especially for heavy or bulky items.
- Some facilities may provide extra room or rental space for public use, such as areas for organizing or handling your stored items. Contact the property manager to confirm availability.
- Check for online reviews and recommendations. Local experts can guide renters to facilities that stay available and maintain reliable service during peak demand.
- Ask the office about the preventive security measures for safeguarding the location. Facilities with experienced staff often maintain stronger daily oversight by monitoring access logs and responding quickly to tenant concerns.
Are there free storage deals in Hingham, Massachusetts?
Many companies offer promotions for new customers, such as a free first month. Search by your zip code or distance to locate cheap storage units that come with the first month free and other decent storage discounts. Take advantage of specials if you're a first-time renter.
How do I find the cheapest storage in Hingham?
You can sort by price, from low to high, to find affordable options on our website. Away from the city center, you have a better chance of finding inexpensive storage rental solutions. The facility's size and amenities affect the monthly price.
What is the difference between an indoor and outdoor unit?
You have easy access to your unit when it is an outdoor unit. If the unit is indoors, you must first enter the building to get to it.
What is the difference between office hours and gate hours?
The property's operating hours are during office hours. The store manager will be on duty to help you with your questions. If you have questions or need help outside these hours, look up the property's phone number to contact the leasing office directly. The gate hours determine when you can enter the property and use your unit.
Hingham's storage facilities are located along Route 3A (Lincoln Street) and Derby Street near the Derby Street Shops. This location provides easy access for residents in South Hingham, Crow Point, and Liberty Plain. Units closer to the Hingham Shipyard are better for you if you live near the waterfront or commute on Route 228 toward Weymouth. To save time, avoid driving on Whiting Street and Route 53 during rush hours, since traffic often backs up then.
If you live in neighborhoods like Crow Point or Hingham Centre, where homes often lack basement or attic space, the 5x10 units work well for storing seasonal items like boating equipment and patio furniture. If your home is near Hingham Harbor, you may prefer indoor units. These protect your valuables from the salt air and humidity shifts that happen in a coastal climate.
Prices usually rise in Hingham during spring and early summer. This happens because more people move around South Shore communities and local colleges like Bridgewater State University during this time. If you can, sign your lease during the winter months, when rates hold steady because of lower seasonal demand.
Facilities often run seasonal promotions, especially during summer move-in periods for local renters and students. Checking regional listings between May and August will let you find the biggest introductory discounts.
