The space was neat when I moved my things into storage. There's only one elevator and it's in the middle of the building. It was quite a walk to carry things into the furthest unit to the side.

Using this storage facility is ok. It took me and my family 30 minutes to get access to our storage unit. We had to call to other locations just to get help. There wasn’t anyone at the facility, because she said she was doing auctions. One of the elevators didn’t work. So it was very difficult sharing the only one that went to the 3rd floor. We thought we were stuck in it at one time. Then when the customer service agent then return she said” Oh ya the elevator been broken”. . Why not put a note on it. I understand about security, but why do you have to put your code in so much. No one wants to put it in to get inside the gate, at the door , at the elevator…it’s just too much. And if the promotion is $1 for the 1st month. Why am I’m being charged on the 1st from what the agent said for whatever days are left in June. June payment shouldn’t be so until 30 days not 1 week.

The elevator code system does not work when more than one person is in the building. I had to pay hourly movers to stand and wait for the elevator doors to work. They were late for their next job. I was penalized.

Let me tell you about my move-in experience: They force you to sign-up for their renter's insurance even if you have your own. You have to sign up for it, and then you may cancel it afterwards. All of the gates, doors and elevators are run via an app on your phone. It's a HUGE pain in the ass. Half of the time the elevators don't work. You have to "unlock" the elevator via the app on your phone, then run into the elevator to hit the button for your floor, then move your stuff into the elevator while holding the door open. It's so annoying! There was shattered glass outside of the double doors to the storage building entrance. There's also graffiti tagged on the side of the building. It's definitely a sketchy neighborhood. It's hit or miss whether someone will actually be there to assist you. I moved in over the course of two days. On the first day, I was told someone would be there at the time I moved in. We called the phone number and no one answered. We waited. They weren't elsewhere on the property. They simply weren't there when they said they would be. Lastly, before I moved in, I dropped by the front desk to find out where my unit was (I signed up online), to show them I already had a lock, and to show them I already had renter's insurance. The lady at the desk saw that I had a quality lock and said that she would deduct the $19.99 charge from my rental, and that she would cancel the insurance. She then told me that she couldn't do that yet, because it was nearly a month before my move-in date, but to drop by when I moved in and they would take care of it. The day I moved in, the desk staff--two men--told me that the first lady had been wrong, that they were a "cylinder" facility and that for security and liability reasons I had to have a special cylinder lock for the door of my storage unit. It's basically a huge scam that forces every single renter to buy a lock they may not need and probably will never be able to use anywhere else.

Do I need to rent a climate controlled unit?

If you have delicate items such as musical instruments, computers, pictures, antique wood furniture, it is recommended to select a climate controlled unit. Climate controlled storage units protect against rust, corrosion, mold, cracking, and warping.

What’s the difference between an indoor and an outdoor unit?An outdoor storage unit is one that has a direct access and usually drive-up accessible. An indoor unit is located within the building.

What items can't be put in a storage unit?

Most storage facilities will not let you store firearms, perishable items, liquids, illegal drugs, flammable and hazardous materials, live animals or plants.

Are my items insured while being in a storage unit?

You are responsible for the items that you store. Storage facility's insurance provides protection for the location that houses the storage units and not the contents of individual storage units. If your homeowner insurance doesn't cover your items, usually the facility manager will help you sign up with an insurance provider.

Can I use my renters insurance for a storage unit?

Anything your renter's insurance policy covers under usual conditions would be covered in your storage unit. Usually, renters insurance will cover items in a unit up to 10% of your policy limits, but the coverage does not include natural disasters. However, there may be exceptions to this, check with your insurance company to see if you're covered.

What do I need to bring with me when to rent a unit?

You will need a government-issued photo ID(driver’s license, state ID or passport) to complete your storage unit rental agreement.

Can I access my unit anytime I want?

Most storage locations are open 365 days a year, but access hours may vary. During access hours, usually between 6am – 10pm seven days a week, you can access your unit by using your individual gate code. During office hours, the company employees are available to answer questions and provide on-site support.

How long can I rent a unit?

Most rental contracts are month-to-month agreements and billed in one-month increments. No long-term lease is required unless the customer requests otherwise.
