Directions: Hwy 49 S: Exit onto Old Hwy 11/Broadway Dr, go 2 miles, at the stop light take Lincoln Rd and go to the 2nd stop light where Lincoln meets 28th Ave; take a left at light, and we are on left. Hwy 49 N: Hwy 49S until you get to Old Hwy 11/Broadway Dr take a right; follow to light at Broadway/old Hwy 11 and Lincoln Rd and take a right onto Lincoln Rd go to 2nd light and take left on 28th Ave, and we are on the left. East: Take Hardy St (E 98) until you come to Hwy49 and Hardy St junction at the light Southern Miss. Will be on to your right and Forrest General Hospital to your left, Follow Hardy St thru the main light cross over Hwy 49 and come to the next light, take a left until the stop sign, take a left and follow to the light at 8th Ave, take a right onto 28th Ave and follow it down to the 3rd light where 28th crosses over Lincoln Rd/ Go straight thru the light (pass Winn Dixie) You will see the Tellus Self Storage sign about 20 yards on the left hand side of road. West:Take Hwy 98 East to Hattiesburg Dr until you pass over the I59 overpass. Keep going straight thru several lights until you get to Hwy 49 and Hardy St, Hwy98 junction. Take a right at the light and follow it down until you pass the hospital, go through the next light passing WalMart Broadway / Old Hwy 11 and Lincoldn Rd, take a right on Lincoln Rd. Take a left at the light, then Follow 28th Ave about 20 yards until you see white Tellus Self Storage sign on the left.

I wasn't sure if I would need one or two storage units for storing my mother's household items. Tellus Self Storage allowed me to rent a unit which had an empty unit next to it so that if I determined that I did need additional storage space I could then rent the unit next to the first one. This is what I ended up doing and it was very helpful to have 2 units that were side by side.

I really like the facility and the units as a whole. My major concern comes with the security. The door to my unit doesn't actually lock (by design it appears) so once you're in the gated area you can walk into any building and to any unit without barrier. This would be OK if the gate were ever closed. When I signed up for the storage unit I was asked for a PIN that would grant me access to the gate. I assumed that meant it would be closed at some point. I returned several times to put things into storage and the gate was opened but I assumed that it was open because it was during office hours. I returned late Sunday evening/early Monday morning and the gate was once again wide open. There was no one to be found in the storage area to have opened it so I can only assume that it is never shut. That is actually a problem for me and could lead me to find another, more secure, storage unit. Thus I really can barely give it a 1 star rating until the security issue is addressed.

I have been very impressed with the way my warehouse reservation has been handled. I was nervous, at first, as I needed the space for my son who has recently moved to Mississippi for college. Everything was handled so well and timely. I really appreciate the manager, Joy for her help!

Great and informative customer service. One big reason I wanted to use this facility though, was for security. I've been in and out of my storage unit about four or five times and I've yet to have to enter my passcode one single time. The gate has been left wide open upon arrival every single time which makes me feel a little uneasy. Other than that, everything has been great, cleanliness, check-in, etc.

What size storage unit do I need?


5' x 5' Storage Unit
It is approximately 25 square feet of space. This size typically holds the contents of one room or large home closet. They are an excellent size to store seasonal items, garden tools, clothes, office supplies, suitcases and miscellaneous boxes.

5' x 10' Storage Unit

It is approximately 50 square feet of space. This size typically holds the contents of one room or office. You can store small amounts of furniture, chairs, mattress, kitchen appliances, and boxes.

5' x 15' Storage Unit

It is approximately 75 square feet of space. This type of unit is good for the contents of a one-bedroom apartment with major appliances.

10' x 10' Storage Unit
It is approximately 100 square feet of space and about the size of a standard one-car garage. Holds furnishings of a one or small two-bedroom apartment with major appliances.

10' x 15' Storage Unit

It is approximately 150 square feet of space. Holds furnishings of a large two-bedroom apartment or smaller home. Great for storing large furniture and appliances.

10' x 20' Storage Unit
It is approximately 200 square feet of space. Holds the entire contents of a three or four-bedroom home up to 2000 square feet. Can also hold compact full-size vehicles and boats.

What is the height of the storage units?

Storage units are approximately 8 feet high.


Do I need to rent a climate controlled unit?

If you have delicate items such as musical instruments, computers, pictures, antique wood furniture, it is recommended to select a climate controlled unit. Climate controlled storage units protect against rust, corrosion, mold, cracking, and warping.


What’s the difference between an indoor and an outdoor unit?An outdoor storage unit is one that has a direct access and usually drive-up accessible. An indoor unit is located within the building.


What items can't be put in a storage unit?

Most storage facilities will not let you store firearms, perishable items, liquids, illegal drugs, flammable and hazardous materials, live animals or plants.


Are my items insured while being in a storage unit?

You are responsible for the items that you store. Storage facility's insurance provides protection for the location that houses the storage units and not the contents of individual storage units. If your homeowner insurance doesn't cover your items, usually the facility manager will help you sign up with an insurance provider.


Can I use my renters insurance for a storage unit?

Anything your renter's insurance policy covers under usual conditions would be covered in your storage unit. Usually, renters insurance will cover items in a unit up to 10% of your policy limits, but the coverage does not include natural disasters. However, there may be exceptions to this, check with your insurance company to see if you're covered.


What do I need to bring with me when to rent a unit?

You will need a government-issued photo ID(driver’s license, state ID or passport) to complete your storage unit rental agreement.


Can I access my unit anytime I want?

Most storage locations are open 365 days a year, but access hours may vary. During access hours, usually between 6am – 10pm seven days a week, you can access your unit by using your individual gate code. During office hours, the company employees are available to answer questions and provide on-site support.


How long can I rent a unit?

Most rental contracts are month-to-month agreements and billed in one-month increments. No long-term lease is required unless the customer requests otherwise.
