Took $100 dollars of my money and I never even got to move in.Our plans changed due to Covid and I cancelled the unit a couple days later. They wouldn't refund me back my money.I even asked if they could apply the money for the next month since we had to reschedule our move. The lady I spoke to was very rude and said No. She went on to say that I would have to pay for everything all over again which is the administration fee, the unit, and lock $126 and some change total if I wanted another unit because my unit was already rerented. I thought the first month of rent was only $1 but apparently not for me because I was fully charged. They don't care about their customers and I will never do business with them again. I called the corporate office out in California and of course I never received a call back. I will save myself the money and trouble and never give this horrible company my business again. Worst customer service I have ever had. I'm extremely dissatisfied and upset. I paid for a service and simply didn't get it.

I am giving Public Storage a excellent rating due to the experience I received from Cecee at the Newburgh, IN location. She went above and beyond to try her best to make my experience great. She was filling in at this location that day and she is the perfect example of how one can show spread kindness and excellent customer service regardless of where you are working. My experience was great and I intend to share with everyone!

This is a newer storage place and it’s very nice and clean. HOWEVER, they raised my 10’ x 20’ space from $90 to $103 per month starting in July. I’ll be leaving!

The staff was very friendly and let us see the unit before committing to rent the unit. The facility seems secure and well managed. It was $5 cheaper per month to reserve the unit through Sparefoot than when I called them to ask questions and they basically signed me up for a unit (which we cancelled). There is a registration fee ($24) for the first month but this is offset since it is only $1 rent for the first month. You have to have insurance on the unit but it would've been cheaper to pay for rent and insurance than to rent in other places in town, plus, your homeowners insurance may already cover it like ours did. You have to bring your own lock (or buy one of theres for $20) but that seems pretty standard for most storage places. Basically, there were some partially hidden fees (listed above) but even with those, it was still cheaper than other places. Overall, had a great experience!

Do I need to rent a climate controlled unit?

If you have delicate items such as musical instruments, computers, pictures, antique wood furniture, it is recommended to select a climate controlled unit. Climate controlled storage units protect against rust, corrosion, mold, cracking, and warping.

What’s the difference between an indoor and an outdoor unit?An outdoor storage unit is one that has a direct access and usually drive-up accessible. An indoor unit is located within the building.

What items can't be put in a storage unit?

Most storage facilities will not let you store firearms, perishable items, liquids, illegal drugs, flammable and hazardous materials, live animals or plants.

Are my items insured while being in a storage unit?

You are responsible for the items that you store. Storage facility's insurance provides protection for the location that houses the storage units and not the contents of individual storage units. If your homeowner insurance doesn't cover your items, usually the facility manager will help you sign up with an insurance provider.

Can I use my renters insurance for a storage unit?

Anything your renter's insurance policy covers under usual conditions would be covered in your storage unit. Usually, renters insurance will cover items in a unit up to 10% of your policy limits, but the coverage does not include natural disasters. However, there may be exceptions to this, check with your insurance company to see if you're covered.

What do I need to bring with me when to rent a unit?

You will need a government-issued photo ID(driver’s license, state ID or passport) to complete your storage unit rental agreement.

Can I access my unit anytime I want?

Most storage locations are open 365 days a year, but access hours may vary. During access hours, usually between 6am – 10pm seven days a week, you can access your unit by using your individual gate code. During office hours, the company employees are available to answer questions and provide on-site support.

How long can I rent a unit?

Most rental contracts are month-to-month agreements and billed in one-month increments. No long-term lease is required unless the customer requests otherwise.
