South Dakota is a Midwestern state that was named after both the Lakota and Dakota Sioux American Indian tribes. Not one of the well-populated states that you can think of, South Dakota still holds its own as being a state that boasts of having rich soil enough to produce crops in a variety.

South Dakota is bordered by Minnesota and Iowa on the east, and by Montana and Wyoming on the west. On the south, the state is bordered by Nebraska and by North Dakota on the north.
