- I started there when it was Budget Storage because their prices were incredible. My rent started around $100 when it was Budget but now my rent is $160, which is quite a lot for me. I was upset when I received the last increase going from $130 to $160. I'm a single mom of 2 young boys and due to covid, I have lost my job so that increase hit me hard. This facility is very clean and I always feel safe there. The few times I've spoken with someone, they have been helpful and kind. Midgards starting rates are impressive and seem to be less than what I'm paying now. When the payment gets auto drafted it can really affect my account and it seems unfair to get a notice one day and then a week or so later the new amount is drafted out and if you've not given 30 days written notice. You have no choice in the matter. It's just very frustrating and it seems unfair that all Storage facilities are able to do this. Even so, I would still recommend this facility to friends and family because it is top notch but for my situation I just can't afford to keep getting increase after increase. Why even sign a contract at all because it won't stay at that price for more than a year if you're lucky. The reason I think the reviews are so different is for the ones that started renting when it was Budget, the price was right, but once it changed hands we've seen nothing but price increases, and the people who started when it was Midgard are happy because they signed the contract at a price they were happy with. I wish I had waited until it was Midgard but hindsight is 20/20.
