- My only complaint is that the unit I have used to be two 5x5's and is now a 10x10, and it has two doors which I didn't notice until I actually started moving stuff in. When I called to inquire I was told that I have to pay for two locks on a storage unit that I did not pick out. I feel this is unfair to a consumer who already paid $20 dollars for a lock from public storage. I was never told by the associate that the unit had to doors. Also when I placed my reservation online it stated an outside unit but of course I got an inside unit.

- My review will focus on my experience to date. I found CubeSmart Self Storage with the SpareFoot Storage Finder. Based on the information provided, it reflected the best combination of price (for the 5' x 5' storage I was seeking), location, and ratings from other reviewers.
This was our first time using self-storage, so I contacted “Store 0540” (this location’s official designation) directly to ensure I had all the documentation (e.g., acceptable ID, property insurance) needed and to complete as much as the preparation paperwork as possible. The manager was very friendly and helpful, ensuring that I understood all the charges I would be paying for (there is a one-time setup fee) and that I either should bring a secure lock or purchase one on site. In fact, I had checked local hardware stores, as well as the “big box” hardware store prices for disk padlocks (recommended over standard ones because they are more secure) and I found CubeSmart’s price to be lower. The manager said that assuming all the information I provided was OK, it would take about 20 minutes to complete the process when we arrived.
When we arrived, we reviewed the rental agreement process. The assistant manager was very friendly and efficient, though the online computer system was surprisingly slow. As a result, despite all the preparation, the paperwork process took over 30 minutes. The range of times among the reviews here would suggest this may be a weakness in CubeSmart’s or Store 0540’s processing system that needs upgrading.
Once we completed the paperwork, the assistant manager gave us an overview of how to access our storage and showed us to our space. We examined it and tried the lock, which worked fine. We then left to move our property into storage.
Store 0540 followed up the next day via email to make sure we had no concerns and I assured them that we were very pleased so far. Customer service seems to be a strong suit of Store 0540 and CubeSmart.

- We arrived on an weekend and were surprised to be greeted by Bonny, one of the owners, who went above and beyond to check with Steven, one of the managers, on our reservation and continued to explain everything in detail AND we had forgotten our paperwork, but Bonny sorted everything out.
The facility has flatbeds to help with unloading and is extremely clean and well lit.
We highly recommend this family owned business for the cleanliness, customer service and quick response time in answering questions!

Find a Storage Unit For Rent Near You
Stack & Store Self Storage 1621 Belair Rd, Fallston, MD 21047 410-836-0802
Finding and renting trusted self-storage facilities in Fallston, Maryland is now easier through MoversCorp. Compare options and rent storage near you with just a few clicks. We provide the convenience of reserving affordable storage units online or by phone. No credit card or long-term contract is required. Consider us as your solution for finding and reserving a storage facility throughout Maryland, including options for mini storage units and storage containers to suit a variety of needs. The cheapest storage unit in your area may not always be the best choice. Please consider the following factors when selecting a storage unit in Fallston, Maryland.
- Monthly rates are based on features such as 24/7 access, climate control, facility security, location, and overall demand in your area.
- For household goods, the most common storage unit sizes are 5x5, 5x10, 10x10, and 10X15. For added flexibility, some companies also offer portable mini storage units for rent for temporary residential use that can be delivered to your property or hauled by you for on-site storage.
- Many facilities offer larger unit sizes for commercial and business storage, like 10x20 or 10x30. These sizes are ideal for storing office equipment, inventory, or business records. These sizes can also accommodate vehicles, making them a great option for car storage.
- Most storage facilities require insurance for stored items. If you don’t have your own policy, you may need to buy one through the facility, adding about $15 to $50 to your storage rental cost each month. Some places also charge a refundable deposit or an administrative fee when you move in. Always ask about these costs and refund conditions before signing a lease.
- Storage facilities with flexible leases allow you to rent on a month-to-month basis. Be aware that storage unit price increases are common. Many customers say their rates go up after a few months, sometimes more than once a year. Since storage rentals are month-to-month, facilities can raise prices with proper notice. Ask about potential rate increases before committing to a unit.
- The monthly rent will also depend on whether a facility offers climate-controlled units or only drive-up units. Climate-controlled units cost more than drive-up units or storage containers.
- Most locations have digital keypad access, which provides you with your personal access code. Check with the office for availability.
- Consider drive-up access for easier loading and unloading, especially for heavy or bulky items.
- Some facilities may provide extra room or rental space for public use, such as areas for organizing or handling your stored items. Contact the property manager to confirm availability.
- Check for online reviews and recommendations. Local experts can guide renters to facilities that stay available and maintain reliable service during peak demand.
- Ask the office about the preventive security measures for safeguarding the location. Facilities with experienced staff often maintain stronger daily oversight by monitoring access logs and responding quickly to tenant concerns.
Are there free storage deals in Fallston, Maryland?
Many companies offer promotions for new customers, such as a free first month. Search by your zip code or distance to locate cheap storage units that come with the first month free and other decent storage discounts. Take advantage of specials if you're a first-time renter.
How do I find the cheapest storage in Fallston?
You can sort by price, from low to high, to find affordable options on our website. Away from the city center, you have a better chance of finding inexpensive storage rental solutions. The facility's size and amenities affect the monthly price.
What is the difference between an indoor and outdoor unit?
You have easy access to your unit when it is an outdoor unit. If the unit is indoors, you must first enter the building to get to it.
What is the difference between office hours and gate hours?
The property's operating hours are during office hours. The store manager will be on duty to help you with your questions. If you have questions or need help outside these hours, look up the property's phone number to contact the leasing office directly. The gate hours determine when you can enter the property and use your unit.
Fallston is located in Harford County, where storage demand is shaped by low-density zoning and a high number of single-family homes with limited attic or basement space. Many households along Mountain Road and Harford Road use off-site storage during home renovations or downsizing because lot sizes vary and HOA rules in nearby developments limit outdoor storage. The area’s location near the Baltimore County line increases cross-county demand from residents relocating within northeastern Maryland.
Price differences between storage options often depend on distance from MD-152, also known as Mountain Road, the community's main north-south route. Units farther from this route usually face less daily traffic congestion, especially during school commute hours linked to nearby public schools. Access from MD-147, also called Harford Road, affects demand because it connects Fallston directly to Bel Air and Baltimore County.
Monthly storage pricing in Fallston is affected by seasonal humidity common to Maryland’s Piedmont region, which raises demand for enclosed indoor units in late spring and summer. The area sees frequent moisture fluctuations due to nearby waterways, such as Winters Run and the Little Gunpowder Falls watershed, which contribute higher ground moisture in low-lying areas. Facilities outside mapped flood-prone areas tend to keep steadier occupancy during periods of heavy rainfall.
Month-to-month storage pricing in Fallston reflects broader housing stability in Harford County, where lower turnover can reduce short-term vacancies and lead to longer-term rent adjustments. Because Fallston lacks dense multifamily housing, demand spikes often align with home sales rather than apartment lease cycles. Renters relocating from nearby Bel Air or Kingsville often see different pricing patterns because of these demographic differences.
