- Gary was the person I dealt with directly at the storage facilty and he was an absolute angel. So incredibly helpful and accommodating. He made the move as easy as possible and I feel confident that should any issues arise in the future, they would be dealt with efficiently and promptly. However, the customer service I had while completing my reservation on the phone, was less than desirable. I was never able to speak to a person the first time called, always had to leave a voicemail and wait for a return call. Once I secured a unit, I was told to call right before I was ready to move in and I would be given my unit number and access codes. I did so but did not receive a call back for hours, which ultimately led to me needing to extend my UHaul reservation, as I was not able to unload my belongings. Additionally, the information I was given regarding the storage faciltity's hours was incorrect which again, led to me needing to extend my UHaul reservation for a SECOND time, costing me even more money. To say I was frustrated and disappointed with the reservation process would be a gross understatement. Dealing with Gary at the location was the only saving grace and the only reason I didn't look for a different storage company.

- Rental price keeps increasing EVERY year and so does the so called insurance that you are forced to get too. The economy is trying to heal itself; a lot of businesses are helping by NOT increasing prices or stores giving discounts. SROA seems ONLY to make MORE money and they have NEVER EVER given any kind of break or discount. I give them 0 Stars for NOT having a HEART!!!

- The units pricing is really ridiculous. Years ago the facility was very clean. now itテ「竄ャ邃「s not it can look a little better on the outside as well. Thereテ「竄ャ邃「s two chairs but only one can be sat in. So my son had to stand up The Whole time after getting told to get off a chair that wasnテ「竄ャ邃「t being occupied.

Finding and renting trusted self-storage facilities in Watertown, Connecticut is now easier through MoversCorp. Compare options and rent storage near you with just a few clicks. We provide the convenience of reserving affordable storage units online or by phone. No credit card or long-term contract is required. Consider us as your solution for finding and reserving a storage facility throughout Connecticut, including options for mini storage units and storage containers to suit a variety of needs. The cheapest storage unit in your area may not always be the best choice. Please consider the following factors when selecting a storage unit in Watertown, Connecticut.
- Monthly rates are based on features such as 24/7 access, climate control, facility security, location, and overall demand in your area.
- For household goods, the most common storage unit sizes are 5x5, 5x10, 10x10, and 10X15. For added flexibility, some companies also offer portable mini storage units for rent for temporary residential use that can be delivered to your property or hauled by you for on-site storage.
- Many facilities offer larger unit sizes for commercial and business storage, like 10x20 or 10x30. These sizes are ideal for storing office equipment, inventory, or business records. These sizes can also accommodate vehicles, making them a great option for car storage.
- Most storage facilities require insurance for stored items. If you don’t have your own policy, you may need to buy one through the facility, adding about $15 to $50 to your storage rental cost each month. Some places also charge a refundable deposit or an administrative fee when you move in. Always ask about these costs and refund conditions before signing a lease.
- Storage facilities with flexible leases allow you to rent on a month-to-month basis. Be aware that storage unit price increases are common. Many customers say their rates go up after a few months, sometimes more than once a year. Since storage rentals are month-to-month, facilities can raise prices with proper notice. Ask about potential rate increases before committing to a unit.
- The monthly rent will also depend on whether a facility offers climate-controlled units or only drive-up units. Climate-controlled units cost more than drive-up units or storage containers.
- Most locations have digital keypad access, which provides you with your personal access code. Check with the office for availability.
- Consider drive-up access for easier loading and unloading, especially for heavy or bulky items.
- Some facilities may provide extra room or rental space for public use, such as areas for organizing or handling your stored items. Contact the property manager to confirm availability.
- Check for online reviews and recommendations. Local experts can guide renters to facilities that stay available and maintain reliable service during peak demand.
- Ask the office about the preventive security measures for safeguarding the location. Facilities with experienced staff often maintain stronger daily oversight by monitoring access logs and responding quickly to tenant concerns.
Are there free storage deals in Watertown, Connecticut?
Many companies offer promotions for new customers, such as a free first month. Search by your zip code or distance to locate cheap storage units that come with the first month free and other decent storage discounts. Take advantage of specials if you're a first-time renter.
How do I find the cheapest storage in Watertown?
You can sort by price, from low to high, to find affordable options on our website. Away from the city center, you have a better chance of finding inexpensive storage rental solutions. The facility's size and amenities affect the monthly price.
What is the difference between an indoor and outdoor unit?
You have easy access to your unit when it is an outdoor unit. If the unit is indoors, you must first enter the building to get to it.
What is the difference between office hours and gate hours?
The property's operating hours are during office hours. The store manager will be on duty to help you with your questions. If you have questions or need help outside these hours, look up the property's phone number to contact the leasing office directly. The gate hours determine when you can enter the property and use your unit.
Watertown sits within Litchfield County, which has a lower population density than Fairfield or New Haven counties, and this affects local storage demand. Residential turnover is higher near the Route 8 corridor, where commuters heading toward Waterbury often need short- to mid-term storage during moves. The town has a high share of single-family homes, which increases demand for off-site storage because many properties have limited basement or garage space. Storage availability and pricing often change by season due to moving activity linked to employment centers south of town.
Monthly storage rates in Watertown depend partly on how close a facility is to major routes like Route 8 and Route 262, which carry most through-town traffic. Facilities near these corridors usually see higher demand because renters can reach them faster from nearby towns like Waterbury and Thomaston. Weekday traffic on Route 8 can limit when renters prefer to access their storage units. Demand also rises in late spring and summer, when most residential moves occur across Litchfield County.
Commercial storage demand in Watertown reflects light industrial zoning near Route 262 and nearby manufacturing activity in surrounding towns. Small contractors and service-based businesses often need extra space to store equipment because job sites offer limited storage. Vehicle storage demand increases during winter, when seasonal equipment is no longer in use. These patterns match broader economic activity across the Naugatuck Valley region.
If you plan to use a portable storage container at your Watertown home, especially in areas like Oakville or along Bunker Hill Road, check with the Watertown Planning and Zoning Department first. Temporary storage unit placement may require zoning approval or time limits, especially in higher-density areas near Nova Scotia Hill Road or Route 6. Confirm details directly with the department to avoid code enforcement issues.
