Pros: Jessica was very nice and I love her glittery highlighters. Other staff is friendly as well. Inside is clean and secure. Cons: I was not allowed to use the restroom. I thought this was unreasonable, since there is very little traffic inside the building. So I had to close up my unit, drive around to find a place to go, then come back. I was not happy about that. There are only 3 carts to move things on and sometimes there are several others waiting to use them. Also, they don't have brakes so they will roll away while trying to load them. Invest in a few more carts! The security system is nice but a hassle. After you put your code in, you have to move fast to get inside before the door shuts. Same with the elevator. Having to put the code in over and over is very frustrating.

I moved into my unit after dark. The office was closed for the day. We tried to find a number on the building to direct us to my unit. There were several entrances, however, none of them were marked. That was the first problem I had. Then my daughter went into the building to see where the unit was. She had to go up the elevator to the third floor and when she exited, there were no lights on. So she started walking down the hall and after she got about halfway, the motion detector finally saw her and turned the light on. Obviously that did not make her feel comfortable at all. They have flat carts that you can use to stack your items and bring them inside and I really appreciated that. The only problem was that when we got close to the door, the concrete was slightly higher than the parking lot concrete, so we were unable to push the cart straight in. instead, we had to stop and physically lift up the end of the cart to get it over top of the raised area. The next day when I returned, it was dark outside again. That time I was by myself. I had the same issue with the lights that we had the first time. I ended up furious because the lights kept going off and every time it happened I had to walk halfway down the hall again before the sensor would see me and then back down the hall to get back to my unit. If you are inside of your unit, there are no sensors, therefore, every time I went in the lights would go out on me again. I have chronic pain issues with my back and I was already in a lot of pain from moving. So, the fact that I had to keep walking back and forth down a dark hallway, feeling extremely vulnerable and wasting a lot of time and working harder and longer than I needed to, well, I'm sure it would be much appreciated for me not to write exactly how that made me feel.

Unfortunately I had to move into the facility just after dark. If I didn't HAVE to move in that night, I would have gone somewhere else. There are zero signs on the outside of the building to tell you where to enter for your unit and I couldn't just go in and ask because the office was closed. Then my daughter goes in to check out exactly where my unit was, on the 3rd floor, and comes back saying it scared this crap out of her because she literally had to walk almost halfway down the hall before the lights turned on. Then, the next night when I showed up by myself and went up there, I too had to walk halfway down a long dark hall to get to my unit before the light turned on. Then, every time that I was trying to load my unit and would step inside of it, all of the lights would go out again because of the sensors. So, every time, I would come back out of the unit and the sensors would still not see me, so, I'd have to set down whatever I was putting in, walk halfway down the hall, it would finally see me, then I'd go baaaack down the hall to my unit!! I was furious!! I am a single female and should not be put into that situation. And the doors on that units suck!! They roll up to where you can only pack a certain height in the front because the door is then right over top of your stuff, blocking it, until you start unrolling it. The door also has 2 metal pieces sticking out from the bottom toward the inside, so you're stuff has to be set back enough for it to clear them. I am not happy a happy customer!!

I love the indoor units the only thing that I have a issue with is only having 1 freight elevator, when there are several people moving in or out you can get stuck waiting for the elevator for some time.

So there I was with little to no money searching for a good storage unit. I have started my treacherous journey on my mission to find the perfect place. Bingo, that marks the spot. I even changed my move in time sooner and before I can even blink it was already changed by the representative. I can not attest to the other locations, but this location is an all in one where I love the new building. Until next time public storage, until next time. P.S. please don’t increase your prices too much and I’ll keep this unit forever.

Location and price was good, having to fight for limited amount of carts and only 1 elevator working was a turnoff. Irritating when people park right in front of the door.

I was very disappointed to receive a call the day prior to my arrival telling me that they wanted to confirm my reservation and day of arrival, but they had given away the unit I had reserved! "Why allow a reservation then" I asked. The response was that it reserved the rate not the unit. This didn't make sense to me, however, I called the main line and found another of the same type unit at another location. The cost, $40.00 more a month! My family and I moved to Virginia Beach from Colorado over 2,000 miles to arrive and have this happen. I was very upset.

What’s the difference between an indoor and an outdoor unit?An outdoor storage unit is one that has a direct access and usually drive-up accessible. An indoor unit is located within the building.

What items can't be put in a storage unit?

Most storage facilities will not let you store firearms, perishable items, liquids, illegal drugs, flammable and hazardous materials, live animals or plants.

Are my items insured while being in a storage unit?

You are responsible for the items that you store. Storage facility's insurance provides protection for the location that houses the storage units and not the contents of individual storage units. If your homeowner insurance doesn't cover your items, usually the facility manager will help you sign up with an insurance provider.

Can I use my renters insurance for a storage unit?

Anything your renter's insurance policy covers under usual conditions would be covered in your storage unit. Usually, renters insurance will cover items in a unit up to 10% of your policy limits, but the coverage does not include natural disasters. However, there may be exceptions to this, check with your insurance company to see if you're covered.

What do I need to bring with me when to rent a unit?

You will need a government-issued photo ID(driver’s license, state ID or passport) to complete your storage unit rental agreement.

Can I access my unit anytime I want?

Most storage locations are open 365 days a year, but access hours may vary. During access hours, usually between 6am – 10pm seven days a week, you can access your unit by using your individual gate code. During office hours, the company employees are available to answer questions and provide on-site support.

How long can I rent a unit?

Most rental contracts are month-to-month agreements and billed in one-month increments. No long-term lease is required unless the customer requests otherwise.
