- It was difficult to find the unit because of the insuficient information provided.
First, there are 3 building on this location: building A, building B and building C. I was given only the unit number, but not the information on the floor number or which building it is. Also, there are no arrow signs on each of the floors that would direct the customer to the ara where the unit is.
So, it turned out that my storage unit is on the secod floor of the building C. All of aforementioned would be highly helpful. Also, the management never responded my messages left after the office hours.
Since I was paying the 2 movers $100.- per hour and came tired by a moving truck from NYC to Sterling, VA, and Public Storage office was closed, at the time, I was not happy to be roaming through the whole complex for 45 minutes to find my storage unit.

- While I completed the rental online, Rhaketa (sp?) was there to great me on arrival. She was both professional and engaging, asking me how everything had gone online and whether she could do anything else for me. She she showed the way by escorting me to the unit and pointing out the best ways to access the elevator and moving equipment. I always appreciate great customer service, perhaps because it is more and more rare, and I was pleased to find it at this facility. Thank you, Rhaketa.

- Iテ「竄ャ邃「m about to file a complaint with State about this storage. When I signed up the person who provided me all the information and helped me with getting the unit assured me that the only way to keep the promotional price for the whole year is to pay for the 12 months in advance. I paid for 12 months and the next day while I was there to check on something, I asked if I can pay for 2 years and then she told me no. She called another manager in the phone then he said thereテ「竄ャ邃「s no guarantee, but we give you 30 days notice before increasing the price. If I had known that I wouldテ「竄ャ邃「ve NEVER EVER moved into that facility. Itテ「竄ャ邃「s a trap to get you in and then jack up the price. I spent a whole day and $1000 to move in. They mislead me and offered something that they donテ「竄ャ邃「t have. Either they fix this or Iテ「竄ャ邃「ll make sure they pay for it. This is the first time Iテ「竄ャ邃「m hearing this. For the last 20 years never ever experienced such a bad experience. I always paid in advance and rate stayed the same for the whole year.

Finding and renting trusted self-storage facilities in Reston, Virginia is now easier through MoversCorp. Compare options and rent storage near you with just a few clicks. We provide the convenience of reserving affordable storage units online or by phone. No credit card or long-term contract is required. Consider us as your solution for finding and reserving a storage facility throughout Virginia, including options for mini storage units and storage containers to suit a variety of needs. The cheapest storage unit in your area may not always be the best choice. Please consider the following factors when selecting a storage unit in Reston, Virginia.
- Monthly rates are based on features such as 24/7 access, climate control, facility security, location, and overall demand in your area.
- For household goods, the most common storage unit sizes are 5x5, 5x10, 10x10, and 10X15. For added flexibility, some companies also offer portable mini storage units for rent for temporary residential use that can be delivered to your property or hauled by you for on-site storage.
- Many facilities offer larger unit sizes for commercial and business storage, like 10x20 or 10x30. These sizes are ideal for storing office equipment, inventory, or business records. These sizes can also accommodate vehicles, making them a great option for car storage.
- Most storage facilities require insurance for stored items. If you don’t have your own policy, you may need to buy one through the facility, adding about $15 to $50 to your storage rental cost each month. Some places also charge a refundable deposit or an administrative fee when you move in. Always ask about these costs and refund conditions before signing a lease.
- Storage facilities with flexible leases allow you to rent on a month-to-month basis. Be aware that storage unit price increases are common. Many customers say their rates go up after a few months, sometimes more than once a year. Since storage rentals are month-to-month, facilities can raise prices with proper notice. Ask about potential rate increases before committing to a unit.
- The monthly rent will also depend on whether a facility offers climate-controlled units or only drive-up units. Climate-controlled units cost more than drive-up units or storage containers.
- Most locations have digital keypad access, which provides you with your personal access code. Check with the office for availability.
- Consider drive-up access for easier loading and unloading, especially for heavy or bulky items.
- Some facilities may provide extra room or rental space for public use, such as areas for organizing or handling your stored items. Contact the property manager to confirm availability.
- Check for online reviews and recommendations. Local experts can guide renters to facilities that stay available and maintain reliable service during peak demand.
- Ask the office about the preventive security measures for safeguarding the location. Facilities with experienced staff often maintain stronger daily oversight by monitoring access logs and responding quickly to tenant concerns.
Are there free storage deals in Reston, Virginia?
Many companies offer promotions for new customers, such as a free first month. Search by your zip code or distance to locate cheap storage units that come with the first month free and other decent storage discounts. Take advantage of specials if you're a first-time renter.
How do I find the cheapest storage in Reston?
You can sort by price, from low to high, to find affordable options on our website. Away from the city center, you have a better chance of finding inexpensive storage rental solutions. The facility's size and amenities affect the monthly price.
What is the difference between an indoor and outdoor unit?
You have easy access to your unit when it is an outdoor unit. If the unit is indoors, you must first enter the building to get to it.
What is the difference between office hours and gate hours?
The property's operating hours are during office hours. The store manager will be on duty to help you with your questions. If you have questions or need help outside these hours, look up the property's phone number to contact the leasing office directly. The gate hours determine when you can enter the property and use your unit.
Facilities near Sunrise Valley Drive and Reston Parkway are convenient for commuters because those roads connect directly to VA-267 (Dulles Toll Road) and Fairfax County Parkway. Traffic congestion peaks in the morning and late afternoon, especially around the intersections of Reston Parkway, Sunrise Valley, and Wiehle Avenue.
Locations near Lake Fairfax Park or Hidden Creek Country Club often see higher demand for recreational storage, such as boats and outdoor gear, because of the popular hiking and lake trails in those areas.
If you plan to store items near the South Lakes or North Point neighborhoods, choose a storage unit with climate control because these areas sit near wooded spaces like Snakeden Branch and Lake Newport. Higher humidity and occasional pest activity are common in these locations. Without proper sealing or temperature control, furniture, electronics, and fabric items can suffer damage over time.
Storage facilities along Michael Faraday Court and Isaac Newton Square often include digital gate access and sit close to the Wiehle-Reston East Metro Station. These locations work well for residents in condo communities like ParcReston or The Savoy who want secure access within walking distance or a short drive. This setup helps when parking space at home is limited.
Summers in Reston are hot and humid. Winters often drop below freezing. Units that stay between 55 and 80 °F year-round help protect sensitive items.
Facilities near forested or water areas, such as Snakeden Branch or Lake Fairfax, may face higher moisture and pest exposure. Climate control and sealed doors are especially important in those locations.
