At Young's Storage we offer the convenience of drive-up access right to your unit 24 hours a day. We are located behind Lake County Gas, right next to the Lakeport Movie Theater. There is a 100.00 refundable CLEANING deposit required on all of our units and refunded immediately up on move out if unit is clean.

I looked thru quite alot of Storage Companies in and out of the immediate area of Lakeport. YOUNGS was very reasonably priced for the size and location of the unit I needed. The unit is convenient because it is a drive up unit behind locked property coded gate, there are security cameras facing the gate in and out and also in the rows pointed at all the units. The staff was friendly both the In bound call center rep who answered all my questions and reserved the unit for me with no cc info needed. When I arrived on site the young lady had my paperwork ready to go and prorated my month for me. The older gentleman, I would assume the owner, is a very sweet man, knows his businesses in and out and made me feel very welcomed and calming given my present state of mind of needing a storage unit asap due to being served divorce and move out order from my newlywed husband. I would highly recommend Youngs for your storage and door hardware needs. Only confused about listed hours cause they verbally said they are open for unit access 6am-930pm everyday, this website says 6am-8pm daily but at the top in description on this same web page it says 24 hours a day access to units so I don't know but someone should update this info across the board.

There are random people walking around the property all the time. It's very easy to walk around and hang out at the storage facility even if you don't have a spot there. I've never had a problem with it but you should know the anyone can walk around the gate or the hole in the fence to get in. If you don't mind those things, this place is the best I've ever tried. I'm a happy customer.

We can’t find safe affordable places close to San Francisco and needed to store our travel trailer quickly. We chose this place due to the great price. Owner is very nice and very efficient and responsive office staff. We have informed the office of a bad mess an outdoor RV owner left behind their outdoor location next to us. There is a locked gate and cameras, however people easily can walk around the fence to enter the premises.

My trailer is outside on grass. There was a bag of trash that I had to move when parking. It was a little gross. The units looked nice and clean. The people were very nice.

Youngs needs to upgrade their security system ASAP. THE GATE CODE IS NOT CONNECTED TO THE UNIT, Everyone has the same one. There is a partial gate around the property but someone with a truck could literally drive around the gate! There are 3 cameras on the property, all facing the front gate. None elsewhere. The individual units are not alarmed either. The reason I bring this up is my unit was robbed 2 days after it was loaded. The office staff are nice but my stuff is gone. They didn't offer insurance so, I'm out of luck. Over $4000 loss of sentimental things. I can't recommend Young's until they have responsible security on the property.

What size storage unit do I need?


5' x 5' Storage Unit
It is approximately 25 square feet of space. This size typically holds the contents of one room or large home closet. They are an excellent size to store seasonal items, garden tools, clothes, office supplies, suitcases and miscellaneous boxes.

5' x 10' Storage Unit

It is approximately 50 square feet of space. This size typically holds the contents of one room or office. You can store small amounts of furniture, chairs, mattress, kitchen appliances, and boxes.

5' x 15' Storage Unit

It is approximately 75 square feet of space. This type of unit is good for the contents of a one-bedroom apartment with major appliances.

10' x 10' Storage Unit
It is approximately 100 square feet of space and about the size of a standard one-car garage. Holds furnishings of a one or small two-bedroom apartment with major appliances.

10' x 15' Storage Unit

It is approximately 150 square feet of space. Holds furnishings of a large two-bedroom apartment or smaller home. Great for storing large furniture and appliances.

What is the height of the storage units?

Storage units are approximately 8 feet high.


Do I need to rent a climate controlled unit?

If you have delicate items such as musical instruments, computers, pictures, antique wood furniture, it is recommended to select a climate controlled unit. Climate controlled storage units protect against rust, corrosion, mold, cracking, and warping.


What’s the difference between an indoor and an outdoor unit?An outdoor storage unit is one that has a direct access and usually drive-up accessible. An indoor unit is located within the building.


What items can't be put in a storage unit?

Most storage facilities will not let you store firearms, perishable items, liquids, illegal drugs, flammable and hazardous materials, live animals or plants.


Are my items insured while being in a storage unit?

You are responsible for the items that you store. Storage facility's insurance provides protection for the location that houses the storage units and not the contents of individual storage units. If your homeowner insurance doesn't cover your items, usually the facility manager will help you sign up with an insurance provider.


Can I use my renters insurance for a storage unit?

Anything your renter's insurance policy covers under usual conditions would be covered in your storage unit. Usually, renters insurance will cover items in a unit up to 10% of your policy limits, but the coverage does not include natural disasters. However, there may be exceptions to this, check with your insurance company to see if you're covered.


What do I need to bring with me when to rent a unit?

You will need a government-issued photo ID(driver’s license, state ID or passport) to complete your storage unit rental agreement.


Can I access my unit anytime I want?

Most storage locations are open 365 days a year, but access hours may vary. During access hours, usually between 6am – 10pm seven days a week, you can access your unit by using your individual gate code. During office hours, the company employees are available to answer questions and provide on-site support.


How long can I rent a unit?

Most rental contracts are month-to-month agreements and billed in one-month increments. No long-term lease is required unless the customer requests otherwise.
