If you have never been to South Dakota, then the impressive and majestic Mt. Rushmore located in the Black Hills should be one of the reasons that you visit. South Dakota is a Midwestern state that was named after both the Lakota and Dakota Sioux American Indian tribes. Not one of the well-populated states that you can think of, South Dakota still hold its own as being a state that boasts of having rich soil enough to product crops in a variety.

An old nuclear missile among other interesting things can be seen at the Minuteman Missile National Historic Site and the Jewel Cave National Monument which is located in Custer.

South Dakota is bordered by Minnesota and Iowa on the east, and by Montana and Wyoming on the west. On the south, the state is bordered by Nebraska and by North Dakota on the north.
